Scare Me Please!

Lately I have been drawn to fiction that scares me, freaks me out and in general keeps me thinking about it for days and days. Normally I would call upon one of my trusted go to authors like Stephen King but these days I rarely have the time to spend reading and epic novel anymore. So short stories and novellas are where I find my scary thrills lately. When I am unable to read (driving, walking etc) I strap on my pair of Beats and listen to the audio version of the stories published in the form of a podcast.

My current favourite is The No Sleep Podcast.

This Podcast is among the best I have found in terms of story content and production quality. The site has many free stories every week for you to enjoy and if you really like it a very reasonable subscription model to get every story from every episode produced. Please note I am not affiliated with the NO Sleep Podcast (nor have I ever been) beyond being an avid listener. I will tell you many of the stories live up to their name and will scare the shit out of you or at least keep you on the edge of your seat while you are listening to them.

I have also listened to The Black Tapes Podcast

The Black Tapes Podcast is a serialized (bi-weekly) docudrama about one journalist's search for truth, her enigmatic subject's mysterious past, and the literal and figurative ghosts that haunt them both. Do you believe?

The LORE Podcast is great too!

Proving the truth is more frightening than fiction.

Lore is a bi-weekly podcast that can be found at http://www.lorepodcast.com. The podcast features stories that are taken from real life events. If you like your stories to be true then this is the one for you. It is a non-fiction podcast that dives into our histories to reveal the darker side of our human nature. Lore has been critically acclaimed as the "Best History Podcast" and was featured in the top 10 lists of The Atlantic and Entertainment Weekly.

Let me know what you think of them and if you have a favourite of your own I would love to hear about it in the comments below.
