Getting Rid of a Ghost

Let's go back to that church that has a ghost. What happen to the man in barong (a traditional Philippine costumes) and the woman in a white gown that appeared in the church? Well, they left! He gathered all of the church members that night and they worship God. They lifted Him up because they know He is the Almighty, and so is Jesus is the victorious.

After they sang praises to Him, they asked for forgiveness for those personal sins that they might have done. We should remember not to go into spiritual warfare when there is any unconfessed sins in our lives because the demon is much stronger when there is a sin. So sin must first be confessed to God so that we can be washed clean by the blood of Jesus.

Then, they group. He assigned one group to pray for the comfort room, another to pray for the room of lady workers, another to pray for the church grounds, and also the church premises. They went to each assigned places. There, each group worship and praises God. They sang and declared that Jesus is truly Lord over the place.

Each and every group they been a mediator in front of the Lord and they asked forgiveness for whatever sins have done of those who lived in that area before. Keep in mind that demons or ghost usually occupy a place because of sin that happened there. For example, someone was murdered there or did occult practices there. Or somebody played spirit of the glass in there.

Sin opens up the land for a demonic occupation that's why there's a ghost disturbances or appearances in there. Thus, the need to ask for forgiveness for the land so the place can be washed clean by the blood of Jesus too. We can also see here that even churches can be a nest of demons if there is sin in that area where it was built.

After asking for forgiveness in God for all those sins they put oil on the soil. This act of anointing with oil is very powerful. Oil as what they believed is a symbol of the presence of the Holy Spirit. And the Bible says that "the yolk will be destroyed because of the anointing oil" (Isaiah 10:27, NKJV). The "yoke" is whatever weight that demons put, in this case, ghosts that scared people.

Whatever yoke or heaviness that Satan or any ghost may have put in a particular place is broken by the presence of the Holy Spirit, symbolized by the oil. You can feel that the heaviness of that place is gone once the anointing oil is applied.

They said, when the Holy Spirit entered in those places, there is no more room for the demon --- pretending to be a ghost --- to stay. It had to leave! So, in Jesus' name, they commanded the demon spirit to go away. Ghost or demons, whatever you call them, all bow down in the name of Jesus.

Finally, they pronounced blessing upon the places. "The tongue has the power of life and death" (Proverbs 18:21). This time, they chose life. They pronounced different blessings for the place. These blessings replace the curses that have corrupted the land. They spoke peace instead of fear, holiness instead of sin, joy instead of heaviness.

Guess what? From that day on, there was no more "haunting" in the place. The reign of the Holy Spirit replaced the activities of the spirits. Jesus reigns! If you also knew a place where theirs some presence of spirit, here they give a sample prayer that you can pray:

Lord Jesus, You reign in this place. We don't recognized no one else as a king in these place but You only. We come to you in behalf of this land. We ask that you forgive the sins that have been committed here. (If you can, name the sins that you know to have taken place there.) We confess the sin of ___________ (name the sin) and we ask You to forgive.

We repent in behalf of those who committed the sins (if it was not you who committed the sins). Lord Jesus, wash this land with oil (pour the oil upon this land an break the heaviness that Satan has placed here. All demon spirits manifesting in this place, we cast you out in Jesus' name. We now declare the blessing of the Lord upon this place. We declare peace, holiness and joy, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Now believed that Jesus has come upon that place, and by faith, He rules with His peace, holiness and joy. It is so good that Jesus is the King of all!
