On Thursday morning my first job, before the carpenter got here at 7AM, was to sort through all the videos in these storage boxes to see what I wanted to keep. (The 3 boxes are keepers, 1 box to go out.) Then I boxed up both the keepers and give aways and the storage cases were ready for him to take home as soon as he got here.
We loaded them into his truck and he took them home. Finally the last of the cases were out of here. Now I just need bookcases made to store the keepers.
My cleaning helpers and the carpenter’s helper arrive around 8AM and we set to work emptying the boxes and sorting the contents. Some of the boxes were pretty mousy and the contents needed washed before repacking. We got them all done and a load in the dishwasher.
The carpenter’s helper and I left about 9:45 to go get the wood and mulch hay. On the way home from getting the wood, nearly home, the broken muffler fell off. The tailpipe came off and the helper was able to wedge the remainder up into place, but it is no longer working. Everyone really knew we were coming now…
We got home, unloaded the wood, and then headed out the back way to get the mulch. While we were gone the cleaning helpers moved the mulch hay off the fence and into the area needing it. Then they started dusting the living room.
When we got back we all put the straw around the perimeter and were able to get it all covered. We’d also brought home another mouse. We are getting quite a population of Christmas tree farm mice here. Seems one comes in on every load. Just what I need, more mice…
A friend called and asked if I wanted to do errands. I did have a couple so she arrived about 12:30 and we went off and did shopping. She wanted to go to this Christmas shop she had discovered, so we brought the groceries home and put stuff in freezer and fridge and headed out.
It was a cute little shop in the hilltowns and we had a good time looking at all the local crafts there. I picked up a garlic mustard that might make wonderful toasted cheese sandwiches and the first Christmas decoration for the new addition.
Here’s a slightly better photo of the barnboard wall. Hopefully we will have sun on Thursday and I will get a decent one.
I didn’t do much once I got home but watch a Christmas movie. On Thursday I have to clean up the mess in the kitchen and the cleaning helpers and the carpenter’s helper will be here at 8AM and we hope to finish the old attic. It’s just lots of boxes of books and some furniture.
