On Tuesday I had not lit the stoves to take the chill off. The electricians were coming and would be working near the ceilings. The carpenter would be working near the ceiling in the living room. It gets hot up there with stoves going.
But it was a raw windy cold day and I no longer have storm windows up. By mid afternoon when everyone left, I was half frozen. So I lit both stoves even though the sun was shining in.
Next thing I knew it was 100F in the office and the very old cat had melted as close as she could by the wood stove. She obviously had gotten as cold as I was. We both managed to thaw out by bedtime.
