FOUNDER BHONG DAVID

Some people that I know, especially my friends and supporters, are used to calling me Founder. It’s nice to hear being respected and admired by them with that title. But the role of a representative or leader of a group or an organization is not an easy job especially with a few thousand members from different countries around the world whose purpose is to help their countrymen. Brain, heart and patience are what we needed to move for a stronger foundation of a fellowship for leading an organization. I have experienced all this in leading the organization. You are dealing with people with different attitudes and knowledge. As a leader, you must uphold what is right for all without pain.

Now I'm going to start introducing myself. I am Bhong Leonidas David, 39 years old. I was born in a place far from civilization in the province of Iloilo City, Panay Island Philippines. I came from a poor family and grew up in hardship.. I am a son of a farmer and am not ashamed of that. In fact, I am proud to recognize the noble work of my good father who had taught his children about the virtue of doing things legally for a living. I worked hard in order to go to school. I finished my studies.

I went to Manila and worked from different companies where I meet a lot of new acquaintances and increased my knowledge. But in my country, the Philippines, our life is really very difficult because of high prices of commodities, but very low salary. In 1996, I tried to work and lived a life as an OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) in Dubai United Arab Emirates which opened a door of opportunity for me for new challenges. But, as a human being, we always face a problem even we don’t like it. It happened unexpectedly in my family when my father, the one who took care of my little brothers, got sick. We were simple family, living in a simple life. Ironically my father passed away and that was the reason for me to leave the country. I worked for six years as an OFW in Dubai.

I went home and tried to enter the field of entrepreneurship from my savings when I was an OFW. But I faced many challenges in life, but never lost hope. I entered the media industry and through it I learned new thoughts, skills, ingenuity and a strategy for every challenge I faced. That's where I started to think using what I learned to help my countrymen.

Despite that I am simple and not rich, I continue pursuing my goal because I know and I feel how to live a life of nothing. It means difficulty to be a poor without anything. I built the MCVO (Media Correspondent and Volunteers Organization) Inc. Over the years, it has expanded into many branches in different countries all over the world since I founded this organization in Philippines. In a few years of my leadership, it reached out to not only one, two or three, but a few thousands of families who were in need of help, including some MCVO members and also CIS media members, a group that I also formed in the field of journalism. They were open for all volunteers who wanted to learn and help others. So far, we have remained committed to helping out everyone in need as long as our resources can afford it, especially the OFWs in different countries, who are victims of cruelties or abuses at the hands of their employers. In a few years of serving our country and countrymen, we already saved hundreds of lives and sent them back home in the Philippines.

Again, MCVO and CIS media are open for everyone who wanted to be a part of it. These organizations are for those people who want to help others who are poor or destitute and sick. Just contact us or email at bhongdavid81@gamil.com. Respect, Honesty & Loyalty is the best policy you should embrace to be a qualified and bone-fide member of MCVO and CIS media rider in the Philippines.
