Festival in Kawasaki Japan

It is the year 2020 of August and a lot of things happened already within the past 8 months. No one knows when corona can be invisible or totally eradicate within the life of each and every one of us. One thing I am sure that life will still continue no matter what the consequences uphold us.

Speaking of consequences, events should not be triggered just because of this pandemic. It will still be held and people will likely participate just to have a nice event spent for this summer season festivities. Speaking of festivals, Japan has lots of festivals yearly and one place I would like to introduce is the place called Kawasaki.

What kind of place is Kawasaki?
Kawasaki is a city part of Kanagawa Prefecture. It is the 8th most populated city in Japan. One of the main cities forming the greater Tokyo area and the Keihin Industrial area. The population as of 2017 is 1,503,690. (Wikipedia)

I am a resident near Kawasaki area and I usually find this place fascinating. Every year of August, “Obon” or Halloween Festival of Japan is one event that I don’t wanna missed in this place. A lot of people gathered here to dance the tune music wearing Yukata or Summer Wear Kimono for women and men. The sound of music makes you dance and clap moving around the center stand where the guide for dancing is at. The attraction is so encouraging that seeing them will make you dance too.

This year theme event was changed and the team was all about “Dai en Kai” which means Great Relationship Society. This is to promote good relationships not only in Kawasaki ward but also the other parts of the city including prefecture.

These are the photos taken here at this event.

All these made especially for people of this area and an attraction too to many commuters of JR Line Kawasaki Station.

Thank you and hope you enjoyed reading.
