Why can't we let peace reign by allowing sophistication in Nigerian Nigerians?
It is said that dialogue solves problems
It is said that war solves a problem
It is also said that power can not be held for eternity
This is a call for the youths to instinctively
Let's utilize this opportunity judiciously
As we make up more of the population
We have insecurities colonizing us
This we encounter from day one
The insecurities that past leaders can't curb
But now it has worsened though
Poverty insecurity tops the table
Life and well-fare insecurity sub it
We have been taught how to survive
We have been taught hustling
We have been taught suffering
Most leaders have kept us in a rat race
Only a few youths have scaled through
The ones that are luckily inclined
The ones that are hard-working inclined
The criminally inclined ones
We are though youths
We are rough youths
But still, we are talented
But still, we are geniuses
But still we are energetic
Talking about power
No tribe hasn't tasted it
Most failed because of self-centred act
Some failed due to set insecurity met
Now looking further at the insecurities
Take it or leave it
The leaders present are leading the race
Structures are now changing
Power is now rotating
Environmental transparency is here
Economical growth is here to stay
We may still be at war at present
War of poverty
War of hunger
War of suffering
But can waging war be the solution?
Why can we let peace reign?
Even though we have seen hell
This is a call for youths to instinctively
Let us utilize the opportunities judiciously
Let dialogue to know what next
To know where we are going
To know what development emerges
This democracy we see
The investment we hear
This program laid out
This growth is here to stay
I know, I know
The suffering is real
So what is now the solution
Is it by destroying our just-growing nation?
Is it by war?
Is it by killing ourselves?
Will it solve the poverty?
Will it solve the suffering?
Will it solve the insecurities?
Why not let peace reign
Even though we see forcibly in the leading act
Let us start from what is left
Let us defend our native land
And see what offer is left
For me
For you
For our forthcoming generations
Do not let the self-centred people
Hack away our future
Those who have already placed themselves
To eat our sweat
Till they die
