Announcing Four New Speakers for HiveFest and introducing Conference Venue Day 2!

HiveFest 9 is less than 70 days away, taking place from September 10th to 15th in Split, Croatia. Set against the sun-soaked Adriatic coast, it's the perfect way to extend your summer (or survive the winter for some attendees!). With a comprehensive program designed to entertain over multiple days, the event is curated by Hive do-er of many things and Split resident: @LordButterfly.

We are thrilled to announce the addition of four incredible speakers to the HiveFest lineup:

As the Co-Founder of Splinterlands, @yabapmatt has been instrumental in creating one of the most successful blockchain-based trading card games. His expertise in gaming and blockchain technology promises to provide invaluable insights into the future of digital gaming and NFTs.

Known as a world traveler (a nomad soul), @lizanomadsoul is the founder of @worldmappin. Her journey around the globe and experience in cultural profiling will offer a unique perspective on global community building and the power of travel in shaping digital interactions. With in-depth updates on the transition of Pinmapple to World Mappin and what is going on and upcoming for this long lasting Hive project.

A talented videographer with a deep commitment to community engagement, @mynewlife will share his experiences of his recent Ghana trip, where the Hive community thrives with examples like the Boreholes water for Ghana project!

languageSpeaker, author, moderator, Hive builder, and beer lover, @detlev brings a wealth of knowledge in community building on Hive. That and traditionally organising Beer Saturday makes him a very welcome guest at HiveFest 9!

Discover HiveFest Conference day 2 venue: The Diocletian's Palace in Split

Day 2 of HiveFest will be hosted at the historic Diocletian’s Palace in Split, Croatia. This ancient palace, built by the Roman Emperor Diocletian between 295 and 305 AD, is one of the most significant and well-preserved monuments of Roman architecture in the world.

Diocletian's Palace is more than just a historical site; it is a living museum that forms the heart of Split. The palace was originally constructed as a massive retirement residence for Diocletian, combining elements of a luxurious villa and a Roman military camp. The complex includes the majestic Peristyle Square, the Temple of Jupiter, and the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, which was originally Diocletian's mausoleum.

Exploring the palace is like stepping back in time. The palace walls are interwoven with medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture, reflecting centuries of history. The bustling streets within the palace are filled with shops, restaurants, and homes, making it a vibrant part of modern Split.
