I have no idea if they have learned this in India too, but they actually traveled to India, and that's what Wikipedia says:
In February 1968 the English rock band The Beatles traveled to Rishikesh in northern India to take part in an advanced training course in Transcendental Meditation in the ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. 😊
