He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of an artificial turf field in Sector 4 of Uttara in the capital on Friday (January 29).
Meanwhile, the DNCC mayor said that sports can save children from going astray. Besides, sports also play a role in building a healthy and strong nation. Atiqul Islam urged the rich people of the society to come forward to make the fields of the capital suitable for playing.
Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, MP of Dhaka-10 constituency, said that if the fields are suitable for playing, the children as well as the parents will get the opportunity to play sports or exercise. Later, DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam inaugurated the artificial turf field.
According to the organizers, this field is privately the largest artificial turf field in the country.
