Killed by jealousy (fiction)

Melinda was a woman known for her grace and charm, livelihood in a strange town close by the sea. She owned a moderate but successful bakery, renowned for its freshly baked pastries and warm, inviting atmosphere. People would jaunt from nearby villages just to smack her famous orchard apple tree pies, and her byplay thrived.

Despite her success, Melinda was abase and kind-hearted, always eager to help others. Her generosity, however, much stirred envy among roughly in the community. Among them was Clara, a woman who owned a nearby coffee shop struggling to attract customers. Clara couldn't empathize how Melinda managed to draw such loyal patrons, and her envy slowly festered into jealousy.

Melinda, unaware of Clara's maturation resentment, continued with her life, spread kindness and joy wherever she went. She had a loving husband, Thomas, who supported her in every endeavor. Their relationship was the envy of many, which only clean-burning Clara’s jealousy.

One evening, Clara decided to visit Melinda’s bakeshop below the pretense of quest baking tips. Melinda welcomed her with open arms, eager to partake her knowledge. As they worked together in the kitchen, Clara felt a twinge of guilt, simply her green-eyed monster overshadowed it.

Weeks passed, and Clara’s cafe continuing to struggle. Her envy of Melinda turned into obsession, and she devised a plan to tarnish Melinda’s reputation. Clara began spread rumors about Melinda using substandard ingredients in her pastries. The rumors spread like wildfire, and presently people started avoiding Melinda’s bakery.

Melinda was heartbroken. Her business, which she had built with love and dedication, was crumbling. Thomas tried to comfort her, but the stress and sadness weighed to a great extent on her. Despite the situation, Melinda continued to usher kindness, hoping the truth would prevail.

One stormy night, Clara, ineffectual to bear the guilt some longer, decided to confess to Melinda. She hurried to the bakery, only to find it empty. Desperate to make amends, Clara ran to Melinda’s home, where she found doubting Thomas tempo the floor.

In tears, Clara confessed everything. Thomas listened in shock simply knew Melinda would forgive Clara. He led her to the backyard, where Melinda much went to find solace. There, under the old oak tree tree, they found Melinda, lying peacefully with a serene smile on her face. She had passed away, the angle of the false accusations and her broken heart too practically to bear.

Clara fell to her knees, overcome with remorse. Her jealousy had interpreted a beautiful soul from the world. The town mourned the red ink of Melinda, and Clara, burdened by guilt, dedicated her living to keeping Melinda’s retention alive. She took over the bakery, ensuring that Melinda’s bequest of kindness and Delicious pastries continued to wreak joy to the community. In her heart, Clara vowed never to allow jealousy cloud up her discernment again, forever cherishing the lessons Melinda had unknowingly taught her.
