Interesado ako dito sa dahilang gusto kong malaman kung ano ang kayang gawin ng isang crypto project upang mabago ang kalagayan sa lipunan at sa ekonomiya ng mga kapus-palad na mga Filipino.
Tatlong artikulo ang tumawag sa akin ng pansin sa aking Google search. Ang una ay ang sinulat ni Philipp Sandner noong January 2020. Ito ay may 22 pahina at ito ay inilimbag sa kilalang paaralan sa Germany, ang Frankfurt School. Na-intimidate ako ng tingnan ko kung gaano kasopistikado ang artikulong ito. Bukod pa rito, medyo cautious ako sa dahilan na sa abot ng aking kaalaman ang paaralang ito ay kilala sa pagiging Marxista sa ideyolohiya.
Sa kabila ng makakaliwang ideyolohiya, commendable para sa akin na ang paaralang ito ay nagbuhos ng panahon upang sumulat ng artikulo ukol sa epekto ng cryptocurrency sa mga developing countries. Yan ay kahanga-hanga para sa akin.

Ayon sa may-akda, sa mga developing countries daw matatagpuan ang pinakamalaking bilang ng mga users ng cryptocurrencies dahilan sa popularidad ng remittance market. Kung totoo ito, iniisip ko, paano kaya ang situwasyon sa Pilipinas na isa sa pinakamalaking nagpapasok ng kapital sa bansa ay galing sa mga OFWs. Gaano kaya karaming mga OFWs ang gumagamit ng cryptocurrencies sa tuwing sila'y nagpapadala ng pera sa kanilang mga pamilya?
Ito lang po ang mga katanungan na gumugulo sa aking isipan. Ewan ko kung may available na data upang magsilbing basihan ng eksaktong bilang ng mga Filipino sa ibang bansa na gumagamit sa kasalukuyan ng cryptocurrencies.
Interesting na binanggit ni Calimanu na ang mga dahilan kung bakit popular ang cryptocurrencies sa mga developing countries. Ilan dito ay tulad ng accessibility, mabilis na transaction at mababang transaction fee, at ikatlo ay ang kakayanan nito na kontrahin ang mahinang pambansang pera at katiwalian.
Sa Pilipinas, ang usapin ng katiwalian ay talamak. Nakakutuwang isipin na ang pagpasok pala sa cryptocurrency ay isa ng paraan ng paglaban sa corruption. Sa abstract pa lang ay napansin ko na ang binigyang diin lamang ay ang mga panganib na dulot ng cryptocurrency sa panananalapi at sa ekonomiya. Nananawagan ang mga sumulat na sina Henri Kouam at Kelly Mua Kingsley na dapat paigtingin ng mga gobyerno ang kanilang mga batas at regulasyon kaugnay sa cryptocurrencies. I am interested in this because I want to know what a crypto project can do to change the social and economic situation of unfortunate Filipinos.
Three articles caught my attention in my Google search. The first one was written by Philipp Sandner in January 2020. It has 22 pages and it was printed by a well-known school in Germany, the Frankfurt School. I was intimidated to see how sophisticated this article was. Additionally, I am a bit cautious because as far as I know this school is known for being Marxist in ideology.
Despite the leftist ideology, it is commendable for me that this school took the time to write an article about the impact of cryptocurrency on developing countries. That's amazing to me.
For now, that's all I can say about this article. I need to spend time reading and understanding what the writer's point is before I can share it here in the Tagalog Trail community.
The second article that caught my attention is Stefan Calimanu's The Rising Popularity of Cryptocurrencies in Developing Countries. He wrote this two years ago, on 12 July 2022.
According to the author, the largest number of users of cryptocurrencies is found in developing countries due to the popularity of the remittance market. If this is true, I wonder, how could the situation in the Philippines, which is one of the largest capital inflows in the country, come from OFWs? How many OFWs use cryptocurrencies whenever they send money to their families?
These are the only questions that bother my mind. I don't know if there is data available to serve as a basis for the exact number of Filipinos abroad who are currently using cryptocurrencies.
Calimanu interestingly mentioned the reasons why cryptocurrencies are popular in developing countries. Some of these are accessibility, fast transactions, and low transaction fees, and the third is its ability to counter the weak national currency and corruption.
In the Philippines, the issue of corruption is rampant. It's interesting to think that getting into cryptocurrency is one way to fight corruption. This way is better and you don't get prejudiced, unlike those who rally on the road against corruption and interfere with the work of others. We don't even know for sure if such a method is effective and if such noise is achieving its desired end. I prefer to silently take care of my life by actively participating in the various crypto community projects.
I won't go into detail about the third link I found. This is for the reason that this article is quite negative about the impact of cryptocurrency on developing countries. In the abstract, I noticed that the only emphasis was on the risks that cryptocurrency poses to finance and the economy. Writers Henri Kouam and Kelly Mua Kingsley call for governments to tighten their laws and regulations concerning cryptocurrencies. It is not surprising that the writers have this view because Kouam is an Economic Consultant in NATO and Kingsley is the Director of Operations in the State of Cameroon.
