Hola comunidad Home Edders, la educación en la era digital ya es algo de lo que se ha hablado mucho, es verdad, pero pienso que su razón de ser no debe ser solo enfocada al momento pandémico que vivimos, esta modalidad debe ir más allá.

Recently I saw a professor from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, who has been a success on Youtube explaining high school math classes basically, his videos have more than 80 million views and his channel more than 10 years operating, so this is not only at this time of global crisis. Reading about this teacher, it caught my attention that although he is dedicated to clarify doubts of a subject that is not very popular among students, at least it was not for me, he said something that seemed to me very true. He explained that he teaches what regular teachers do not have time to transmit in a classroom. That's what he attributes his success to, and I believe it too.
Recientemente vi a un profesor de la Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, que ha Sido todo un suceso en Youtube explicando clases de matemática de secundaria básicamente, sus videos tienen más de 80 millones de reproducciones y su canal más de 10 años operando, por lo que esto no es solo a este momento de crisis mundial. Leyendo acerca de este profesor, me llamo la atención que si bien se dedica a aclarar dudas de una materia que no es muy popular entre los estudiantes, al menos no lo era para mí, dijo algo que me pareció muy cierto. Explico que el enseña lo que los profesores regulares no tienen tiempo de transmitir en un salón de clases. A eso le atribuye su éxito, y yo lo creo también.

Academic knowledge was obtained in schools and its reinforcement at home was optional. With the advantage that if they do not understand it, they can repeat it as many times as they want until they assimilate it.
La vida moderna busca simplificarnos todos los procesos, y en general buscamos siempre tener más tiempo para otras actividades y cubrir todas nuestras ocupaciones diarias, también pasa que el contenido escolar se ha reducido hasta ser una noción general de determinado tema, lo que anteriormente no ocurría. El conocimiento Académico era obtenido en los centros educativos y era opcional su refuerzo en casa. Aquí vemos cómo ya no es así, los estudiantes de edad escolar y secundaria han migrado a esta herramienta digital para adquirir esa profundización del tema que no consiguen en su salón de clases. Con la ventaja que si no la entienden, pueden repetirla tantas veces como quieran hasta asimilarla.

I believe that this digital tool can be taken advantage of in these times of pandemic, not only if students decide to spend their time in obtaining this knowledge, but also if other educators join this modality of sharing their knowledge about other areas of study, such as social studies or literature, chemistry or physics, and all those that are part of the school content. In his interview, this teacher stated that he had found that many of these people who saw him voluntarily had become passionate about the study of mathematics and that this had never happened to them before.
Creo que este instrumento digital puede ser aprovechado en estos tiempos de pandemia, no solo si los alumnos deciden ocupar su tiempo en obtener estos conocimientos, sino también si otros educadores se suman a esta modalidad de compartir sus conocimientos sobre otras áreas de estudio, como sociales o de literatura, química o física, y todos aquellos propios del contenido escolar. Este profesor en su entrevista manifestó, haber comprobado que muchas de estas personas que lo veían voluntariamente, se habían apasionado con el estudio de las matemáticas y que antes esto nunca les había pasado.
I believe that in this way, through digital channels, we would have better prepared students who are truly interested in learning educational content that will nurture them for life, and not only in acquiring basic knowledge that will help them to pass a subject. In addition to this, it should be remembered that the future of work even demands from the men and women of tomorrow the use of information and communication technologies in every aspect of their lives and I assure you that our children have an incredible advantage in this area.
Creo que de esta manera a través de los canales digitales, tendríamos alumnos mejor preparados y verdaderamente interesados en aprender un contenido educativo que los nutra de por vida, y no solo en adquirir un conocimiento básico que les sirva para aprobar una materia. Adicional a esto, se debe recordar que el futuro laboral incluso exige de los hombres y mujeres del mañana el manejo de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación en cada aspecto de su vida y les aseguro que en eso nuestros niños nos llevan una ventaja increíble.
