In pursuit of Her Dreams.... Part 1

There was a time when she waited for the sun to come to the horizon everyday. She loved the light and her eyes were so acquainted to it. They always were ready to bear more brightness. She enlightened the dreams in her eyes with the lights the sun showered on her everyday. Every time she absorbed more colours of it and became a better version of herself.

She was happy with who she was. Though she didn’t have the direction for reaching her dreamed destination, yet she had started her journey. She was taking the guidance from the sun and was sure that the paths she had been moving on would take her to something precious. If not one she would reach out to another treasure; but the treasure was sure to come.

She was happily moving on her way with the melodious music of her dreams in her ears. It had magical impact which kept on giving her motivation to continue the journey even if she got tired.

Sometimes, she looked around herself. There were many flowers. She remembered she had planted them. They were blooming fully. Their fragrance was wafting his route and so the journey became more pleasurable.

Listening to the music of her dreams and the fragrance of her achievements she covered several milestones. She had come quite far from her starting point. She was now able to see the destination she yearned for so long. She wanted to run faster but then suddenly she fell.

“What was that?” She asked herself feeling something tied around her feet.
“Oh!” She remembered something. “The guardian is calling me back,” she babbled.

She had promised her guardian that she would be back to her whenever she would call her. For her security, a chain was fastened around her feet so that she could be brought back to her safety zone if she tried reaching something dangerous. Now the guardian had started pulling the chain.
“No,” she cried, “I don’t want to go back. I am quite near to my success.”
“Don’t you remember your promise,” the chain reprimanded.
I do remember,” she pleaded, “but look around me. There is no danger here.
Pointing towards a spot she continued, “Look there! That is going to be my first remarkable success in pursuit of my dreams.” With excitement and hope in her voice she looked towards the chain. “Can you see there is too much gold,” she tried to persuade the chain. “I am very near to attain the treasure for which I have travelled this far walking tirelessly day and night. Please, let me go to bring it off.*”

Before the chain would reply, she heard the voice of her guardian, “Look at your gold carefully, sweetheart. It is molten and hot. You are only looking at its shine but you don’t know it can burn you. It has burnt many others.” The voice paused for a while, then continued in gentle but definitive tone “I cannot let you take the risk. You have to come back now. The journey is over.

“It will not burn me. It is molten but it is gold. It is hot but it is gold. I will make beautiful ornaments out of it. I will learn the skill for doing this. I will take preventive measures.” She wanted to scream these words out loud but what she could do was mere rambling. She didn’t want to disappoint her guardian because she loved her a lot and she knew the guardian loved her more.

The chain started to pull her back to the so-called haven and she kept walking back with heavy heart and tearful eyes.
