I think itās high time I shared what has been bothering me for the past few weeks, i have been trying my possible best to stay away from anything relating to this conversation for a long time, but after seeing a couple of annoying tweets from my friends, i made up my mind to talk about it. My football fans get ready for what is coming, especially those who has a team in the English Premier League divisionā¦
I had high expectations and hope this season, seeing how the boys started this season with full vigor and top notch strategy, we started the season quite well, and that made me very happy. I wonāt deny the fact that most of the teams in premier league this season had upgraded players in their team, monies was spent in acquiring good and quality players, my team also got some good players in betweenā¦
Thanks to the early injury KEVIN DEā BRUYNE had this season, teams like Liverpool and Arsenal were a step ahead of Manchester city in the league, there was no Deā bruyne and Haaland corporation, which made some winnings a bit difficult for the Manchester Cityā¦
Liverpool, Arsenal and a couple of other teams were in full form this season, which made the race for Premier League title more challenging and competitive, and as a Liverpool fan, seeing my team doing quite well at the beginning of the season made me happy and hopeful, last season didnāt really end well for us, we had to miss UEFA Champions League and settle for the UEFA Europa League, we didnāt make it to the top 4ā¦
Liverpool started the season well, our first eleven were as good as new, the way the team started this season gave me hope of bagging some trophies if not all, I believed we could bag the Carabao cup, FA cup, and mostly the EPL title, and that was because of my teamās performance and form this seasonā¦
Klopp came in this season with force after missing out on Champions league qualification, we started all the competitions we qualified for this season quite well, and as my team were winning most of its matches in all the competitions, I was happy and It looked like we had the premier league title within our grasp too, which made me happierā¦
Even when all competitions were coming to an end and a couple of expected big teams In premier league had been disqualified, Liverpool proved to be better and stronger, as we were still in the race for titles like FA, Carabao, Europa, and Premier League. Things were looking too good and smoothā¦
The strategy Liverpool had this season was quite different from the ones they always had, our first 10-15 matches were a comeback win, our opponents were always securing the first goal of the game and even with that we still handled the game quite well and bag all 3 points. This strategy got me quite scared to an extent but seeing how they seem to be handling it well, I became more confidentā¦
Liverpool made its way to the top of the table quite early, thanks to the injury of Kevin deā bruyne, the only competitive team we had early on was Arsenal, this team were also in good form since the start of the season, and they were also my second fearā¦
Months after, Deā bruyne came back from injury and as expected, Manchester City games became more predictable and less competitive, they thrashed any team they faced, and before we all knew it, they joined the race for the EPL titleā¦
The league title that was within our grasp became something that was within the grasp of 3 strong teams; Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester cityā¦
The return of kevin made me scared and as expected my team started losing games against their opponents, small teams started winning us, while Arsenal and Manchester City kept winning their gamesā¦
In no time we were out of the race for the EPL title. The last I checked we were still aiming for other trophies, and for some reasons i had to take a break off screen for a while, coming back and seeing how things had gone from bad to worse was quite disappointingā¦
I came back to see my team has been sent packing from all the other competitions, seeing how everything turned out I stopped watching football after that discovery, i gave up completely because there was nothing for us this season, even when it looked like we had everything. I guess nothing lasts foreverā¦
In summary, the only joy and consolation I had were our qualification for champions league next seasonā¦
In conclusion, i am quite disappointed with how everything ended this season, Manchester City had the last laugh which made it the best, they bagged the EPL title this season. I hope next season will be much better. We had to settle for the 3rd position this season, which is not good enough for many reasons, but hopefully next season will be betterā¦
