Ganpati festival and enthusiasm of sculptors

Hello friends, today when I went to the market, the work of making idols was going on in full swing in a shed in an empty place on the side of the road. Because Ganpati Ji is going to arrive next month, This year Ganpati is going to be installed on 7th September and immersed on 17th September. That is why they were working with great fascination.

Friends, many festivals are celebrated in India, but Diwali, Holi, and Ganpati are the biggest festivals. The work of making the idol of Lord Ganesha required for the Ganpati festival starts six months in advance, the sculptors who make the biggest Ganpati idols of Mumbai do this work throughout the year. Because the idols of these big pandals can be from twenty feet to thirty feet. We get the Ganpatis that are used in small houses in the market from small sculptors' factories. I visited one such small factory. There, idols of Ganpatiji were being made to be placed in very small houses.

They had received a lot of orders and the festival was coming close. So they don't even have time to talk, orders are coming on the phone. All the people of those artisans' families are busy making idols. The children of their homes are also helping their parents in small ways. This is how the art of making idols is slowly being passed on to the next generation. The next generation learns from this. Friends, the Ganpati festival is a very big festival here in Maharashtra, especially in Mumbai. During these days, the whole of Mumbai will be seen full of festivity, joy, and merriment. Some Ganpatis are very famous in Mumbai, one of them is "Lalbaug ka Raja" whose idol is very attractive, charming, and big. People come to see this Ganpati not only from India but from many countries of the world.

This scene is worth seeing. People stand in line overnight to see him. The line can be two to three kilometers long. But devotees stand in line and take darshan. Many VIPs come to see him, from cine stars to politicians and many big industrialists come to see him. People have faith in Lalbaug Ke Raja, he fulfills the wishes of the people. That is why people stand in line for hours to take darshan. This Lalbaug Ke Raja is just a ten-minute walking distance from my office. Friends, it is very enjoyable to see this festival live. Thank you.🙏
