Every time I talk about promoting it or even try to promote Hive on other web 2 spaces, I'm reminded about how much we have done and how much we still need to do. The idea is to keep things as simple as possible. The truth is Web 3 is very complex, and to date, there are still things I struggle to learn in the web3 space. Most of these web2 platforms were built to be consumed, thus creating a very simple-to-use UI, unlike web3 which mostly serves as a tool and more like a means to an end. This is one of the major reasons why explaining the essence of web3 to an average person who would not normally want to do anything other than chatting and taking pictures is hard.
For example, the hive was created as a means by which people can create content of which the end result is rewards. But Facebook and Instagram were created to bring ordinary people together and tell everyone about themselves, how their day went and other stuff like that. But if you were to do such a thing on Hive, you might need to start by writing at least 250 words, do so in a particular community, engage in that community and then think about the whole process of writing, editing and uploading your work. Chances are that your family members won't get to see what you do, so the enthusiasm most times might not be there. The truth is hive is a workplace and if we must promote it we must not let it to be seen as a workplace.
This is one of the reasons I love the Dreemport project, going into Dreemport you feel like you're going to relax. It took me nearly two years to finally relax on hive and that is because I choose to love my job. So if I should advertise hive, like I have always done I advertise it as someone who loves my job. In essence, if we want to advertise hive to the world we should learn to do so effortlessly as though we are talking about that job we love so much and how it has helped us. We don't necessarily need to tell people to join, just talking about it every day would ignite the interest of others because they would want to see that safe space we have been bragging about and also experience it themselves.
