First of all, I congratulate and best wishes my Indian friends on this holy time in which everyone's ideal Lord Shri Ram hoisted the flag of victory of good over evil and opened new and religious doors for us to live life. Hearty congratulations to all my dear Indians on Dussehra, Durga Ashtami, Diwali, Gobardhan, Bhai Dooj, Karva Chauth, Ahoi Ashtami, Dhanteras and Chhath Puja. Let's talk about this contest started by @indiaunited in which we all have to tell how we are going to celebrate this festive time. You can read about this amazing contest by clicking here. I was thinking for a long time that indiaunited should start a contest in which all of us Indians can join and contribute and finally see we are going through that time in which we are sharing our experiences with festivals as well as hive friends. Thanks indiaunited for this contest.
First of all I am going to talk about Navratri, you will not believe it but I kept fast during Navratri for 23 years. Now for the last few years, due to travel, I have not been able to keep all the fasts of Navratri, hence now I keep one fast at the beginning and one at the end. Because I am from Haryana and here the goddess is worshiped as Sanjhi Mata, every year we make a clay goddess which we worship in the morning and evening, after nine days we immerse it in flowing water, the idol flows. After doing this our fast ends.
During the holy days of Navratri, I had darshan of Lord Kedarnath. Earlier I had gone here twice during the disaster. After 10 years, Baba sent me an invitation, which I happily accepted and reached Kedar Valley. I had already made a plan to visit Kedar Baba that I would go during Navratri only and after having darshan, I would come straight home so that I could serve the Goddess for nine days.

Yesterday was Dussehra, I don't need to tell you why we celebrate this day. But I definitely want to say that no living being should think that Lord Ram's hand is not on his head, Lord Ram is with everyone in every situation. Yesterday was Dussehra so I came to Sahastradhara temple in Dehradun to have darshan of Lord Shiva. Roamed in the caves present here and took a dip in the nearby Song river and remembered the Neelkantha form of Shiva.

Since I am not much fond of cooking nor do I know it, I will only share about travel or what I am going to do during these festivals. Diwali has not come yet but on the day of Diwali, sweet puras are made in our house, we start the day by worshiping the cow in the morning. Well, we have two cows which are still small. When I am home, half of my time is spent in serving them. There is a plan to decorate the roof of the house with colorful electric strings on Diwali. First of all, I will check last year's electric wires to see if they are in good condition to be installed or new ones will have to be brought.
At 7 pm, we will worship Goddess Lakshmi and Ganesha, take blessings of God and give prasad to our Chacha, taau and Baba, after which we will light the whole house with earthen lamps. My mother lights 548 earthen lamps every year, which we keep in our house, near the cow, under the Neem tree, above the hand pump, near Tulsi and at the doorstep of our relatives' houses and pray to God that this May the festivals bring peace and happiness to all.

On Gobardhan, which falls on the next day of Diwali, an idol of Lord Krishna is made from cow dung, which we call Gobardhan. It is believed that by circumambulating Govardhan made of cow dung, one receives blessings from Lord Krishna and if someone completes 7 circumambulation, then the person doing the circumambulation becomes free from sin in this life. Married people in pairs and unmarried people alone attain virtue by circumambulating Baba Govardhan. Prasad is distributed after the puja. So this time I am also going to contribute my contribution to make Govardhan like every year.

On Karva Chauth, I bring fresh fruits from the market for my mother, and on the day of Ahoi Ashtami, my mother keeps fast for us. After worshiping Ahoi Mata and Lord Satyanaraya in the afternoon, we get very tasty Prasad to eat. And every year on Dhanteras, our family members buy utensils from the market. I don't know the logic of buying utensils but it feels good to eat food in new utensils.
If you have read the entire blog till the end, you will know that I am not able to cook food but will fully support my family in all other preparations. I hope this festive season fills everyone's life with light, peace and happiness.

बात करते हैं @indiaunited द्वारा शुरू किये गए इस कांटेस्ट की जिसमें हम सभी को बताना है कि इस त्यौहरिक समय को कैसे सेलेब्रेट करने वाले हैं. इस अमेजिंग कांटेस्ट के बारे में आप यहाँ क्लिक करके पढ़ सकते हो. मैं काफी समय से सोच रहा था कि indiaunited एक ऐसा कांटेस्ट स्टार्ट करें जिसमें हम सभी भारतीय जुड़ें और अपना योगदान दें और फाइनली देखिये हम उस समय से गुजर रहे हैं जिसमें हम त्यौहारों के साथ-साथ hive के दोस्तों के साथ अपने अनुभव को साझा कर पा रहे, धन्यवाद indiaunited इस कांटेस्ट के लिए.
सबसे पहले मैं नवरात्रों की बात करने जा रहा हूँ, आपको यकीन नहीं होगा लेकिन मैंने 23 साल तक नवरात्रों के उपवास रखे. अब पिछले कुछ साल से ट्रेवल के चक्कर में मैं नवरात्रों के सारे उपवास नहीं रख पाता इसलिए अब मैं एक शुरू का और एक लास्ट का उपवास रखता हूँ. क्योंकि मैं हरियाणा से हूँ और यहाँ देवी की पूजा सांझी माता के रूप में की जाती है, हम हर साल मिटटी की देवी बनाते हैं जिसकी सुबह-शाम पूजा करते हैं, नौ दिन बाद हम उसे बहते पानी में प्रवाहित कर देते हैं, मूर्ति प्रवाह करने के बाद हमारे उपवास समाप्त होते हैं.
नवरात्रों के पवित्र दिनों में मैंने भगवान केदारनाथ के दर्शन किये, यहाँ पहले मैं आपदा के समय गया था दो बार, पुरे 10 साल बाद बाबा ने बुलावा भेजा जिसे मैं सहर्ष स्वीकार करके केदार घाटी पहुंचा. केदार बाबा के दर्शन का प्लान मैंने पहले ही बना रखा था कि नवरात्रों के दौरान ही जाऊंगा और दर्शन करके सीधा घर आ जाऊंगा ताकि नौ दिन देवी की सेवा कर सकूँ.

कल दशहरा था, मुझे बताने की ज़रूरत नहीं है कि इस दिन को हम क्यूँ सेलेब्रेट करते हैं. लेकिन इतना अवश्य कहना चाहता हूँ कि कोई भी जीव यह न सोचे कि भगवान् राम का हाथ उनके सर पर नहीं है, प्रभु राम सबके साथ हैं हर परिस्थिति में. कल दशहरा था तो मैं देहरादून स्थित सहस्त्रधारा मंदिर आया था भगवान् शिव के दर्शन को. यहाँ मौजूद गुफाओं में घूमा और पास ही स्थित सोंग नदी में डुबकी मारकर शिव के नीलकंठ रूप को याद किया.

क्योंकि मुझे खाना बनाने का ज्यादा शौक नहीं है और न मुझे आता है इसलिए मैं सिर्फ ट्रेवल या जो मैं करने जा रहा इन त्यौहारों के दौरान उसी के बारें में साझा करूँगा. दिवाली तो अभी तक आई नहीं है लेकिन दिवाली के दिन हमारे घर मीठे पूड़े बनते हैं, सुबह हम गाय की पूजा करके हम दिन को शुरू करते हैं. अच्छा हमारे पास दो गाय हैं जोकि अभी छोटी हैं. जब मैं घर होता हूँ तो आधा समय तो उनकी सेवा में ही बीतता है. दिवाली पर घर की छत को रंग-बिरंगी बिजली की लड़ियों से सजाने का प्लान है. पहले तो पिछले साल की बिजली की लड़ियों को चेक करूँगा कि वो लगाने की कंडीशन में है या नई लानी होगी.
शाम 7 बजे हम देवी लक्ष्मी और गणेश की पूजा करेंगे, भगवान् का आशीर्वाद लेकर अपने चाचा, ताऊ और बाबा को प्रसाद देंगे जिसके बाद सारे घर को मिटटी के दियो से जगमग कर देंगे. मेरी माँ हर साल 548 मिटटी के दिए जलाती हैं जिन्हें हम अपने घर, गाय के पास, नीम के पेड़ के नीचे, हैण्डपम्प के ऊपर, तुलसी के पास और अपने रिश्तेदारों के घर की चौखट पर रखते हैं और भगवान् से दुआ करते हैं कि यह त्यौहार सभी के लिए शांति और खुशियाँ लेकर आये.

गोबर्धन जोकि दिवाली के अगले दिन आता है को हमारे यहाँ देसी गाय के गोबर से भगवान् कृष्ण की प्रतिमा बनायीं जाती है जिसे हम लोग गोबर्धन बोलते हैं. ऐसा माना जाता है कि गोबर से बने गोबर्धन की परिकर्मा करने पर भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण से आशीर्वाद प्राप्त होता है और यदि कोई 7 परिकर्मा करता है तो परिकर्मा करने वाला इस जन्म में पापमुक्त हो जाता है. शादीशुदा लोग जोड़े में और अविवाहित अकेले बाबा गोबर्धन की परिकर्मा करके पुन्य प्राप्त करते हैं. पूजा के बाद प्रसाद बांटा जाता है. तो इस बार मैं भी अपना योगदान देने वाला हूँ गोबर्धन को बनाने के लिए हर साल की तरह.

करवा चौथ पर मैं अपनी माँ के लिए बाज़ार से ताजा फल लाता हूँ, और अहोई अष्टमी वाले दिन मेरी माँ हमारे लिए उपवास रखती है. दोपहर को अहोई माता और सत्यनाराय भगवान की पूजा के बाद हमें बहुत स्वादिष्ट प्रसाद मिलता है खाते को. और हर साल की तह धनतेरस पर हमारे घरवाले बाज़ार से बर्तन खरीकर लाते हैं. बर्तन खरीदने का लोजिक मुझे नहीं पता लेकिन नये बर्तनों में भोजन ग्रहण करना बहुत अच्छा लगता है.
यदि आपने पूरा ब्लॉग पढ़ा है अंत तक तो आपको पता चलेगा कि मैं भोजन तो नहीं बना पाता लेकिन अन्य सभी तैयारियों में अपने घरवालों का भरपूर साथ दूंगा. आशा करता हूँ यह त्यौहारों का सीजन सभी की ज़िन्दगी में रौशनी भर दे, शांति स्थापित हो और खुशियाँ ही खुशियाँ हो.
