A mi familia y a mí nos preocupaba como se iban a llevar esas dos ya que habían tenido meses de tensión por su embarazo y era su primera vez. Entonces Chiki fue la primera en dar a luz se puso muy tranquila con los demás gatos y cuidaba atentamente a sus bebes, Mulan por otra parte estaba en espera, muy curiosa siempre se acercaba a ver a los pequeños. Pasaron los días y por fin llego el momento de que ella diera luz, lo supimos cuando comenzó a quejarse por los dolores de parto con sus maullidos fuertes. Tardo bastante pero al final nacieron cuatro gatitos sanos y fuertes (dos hembras y dos varones) e igual que los de Chiki que también fueron 4 gatitos (tres varones y una hembra).
My family and I were worried about how these two were going to get along since they had had months of stress due to their pregnancy and it was their first time. Then Chiki was the first one to give birth, she was very calm with the other cats and took good care of her babies, Mulan on the other hand was waiting, she was very curious and always came to see the little ones. The days went by and finally it was time for her to give birth, we knew it when she started to complain about the labor pains with her loud meowing. It took a long time but at the end four healthy and strong kittens were born (two females and two males) and Chiki's were also 4 kittens (three males and one female).

Mulan y Chiki se hicieron muy unidas durante esa temporada, convivían entre ellos y ambas camadas, se cuidaban unos a otros aunque siempre había que estar atentos que los más grandes no los lastimaran, pero tuvieron un buen comportamiento y los pequeños como las madres estuvieron relajados.
It was the first time we had so many baby kittens in the house. It was a very nice experience, like an explosion of love and tenderness. Mulan and Chiki became very close during that season, they lived with each other and both litters, they took care of each other although we always had to be careful that the older ones didn't hurt them, but they were well behaved and the little ones like the mothers were relaxed.
Paso un mes desde que Mulan dio a luz, sus bebes ya habían abierto sus ojos y caminaban mejor, los de Chiki ya tenían dos meses pero no dejan de amamantarse y Quesito (hijo de Chiki) de vez en cuando se infiltraba para que Mulan también lo amamantara por lo tanto tenía como dos madres. También ocurrió que durante ese tiempo nuestro vecino trajo a dos gatitos recién nacidos que consiguió en la calle (tenían aproximadamente una o dos semanas) para que Mulan fuera su nodriza así que estuvimos a la expectativa si ella los aceptaría como sus hijos. Para nuestra sorpresa ambas gatas hicieron su papel a pesar de que Chiki estaba ya por destetar a sus bebes, ella siguió con esos dos recién traídos y se criaron con ambas madres que siempre estaban a su pendiente y cuidado.
A month passed since Mulan gave birth, her babies had already opened their eyes and were walking better, Chiki's babies were already two months old but they didn't stop nursing and Quesito (Chiki's son) from time to time would sneak in for Mulan to nurse him too, so he had like two mothers. It also happened that during that time our neighbor brought two newborn kittens he got from the street (they were about one or two weeks old) for Mulan to be their wet nurse so we were waiting to see if she would accept them as her children. To our surprise both cats played their role even though Chiki was about to wean her babies, she kept those two newborns and they were raised with both mothers who were always looking out for them and taking care of them.

Ambos se adaptaron a sus hermanos adoptivos y viceversa, era lindo ver como ambas gatas asumían su papel y hacían un gran trabajo como madres, las personas suelen tener una imagen mala de los gatos, mucho prejuicios sobre ellos, pero en verdad al ver todo eso no me queda duda que el amor de las gatas hacia sus pequeños es igual que el amor de una madre hacia sus hijos. Eran muy atentas no los dejaban solos y se volvieron mucho más cariñosas también nos ganamos su confianza para poder tocarlos aunque nunca dejaban de vernos.
It was nice to see how both cats assumed their role and did a great job as mothers, people usually have a bad image of cats, a lot of prejudices about them, but in truth seeing all that I have no doubt that the love of the cats towards their little ones is the same as the love of a mother towards her children. They were very attentive, they did not leave them alone and they became much more affectionate and we also gained their trust to be able to touch them even though they never stopped looking at us.
Fueron días muy hermosos, me dejaron buenos recuerdos. Sin embargo no podíamos quedarnos con todos ellos así que los pequeños fueron dados en adopción y rápidamente tos fueron adoptados, una parte de mi estaba triste y otra feliz por que logramos conseguirles hogares a casi todos. Ya que Osito y Kitty al estar tan pequeños aun no fueron dados y luego nadie se intereso en ellos. Mi tía se quedo con Quesito ya que le tomo mucho cariño por sus travesuras. Mientras los dos seguían creciendo le fuimos tomando mucho más cariño y nos dimos cuenta que a pesar de que ellos se estaban convirtiendo en gatos grandes; Chiki y Mulan seguían siendo muy unidas con ellos… Hasta el sol de hoy es así, en el fondo siempre seguirán siendo sus bebes.
Those were beautiful days, they left me with good memories. However we couldn't keep all of them so the little ones were put up for adoption and quickly they were adopted, a part of me was sad and another part of me was happy because we were able to find homes for almost all of them. Since Osito and Kitty were so small, they were not given up and then no one was interested in them. My aunt kept Quesito because she was very fond of him due to his mischief. As the two continued to grow we became more and more fond of them and we realized that even though they were becoming big cats; Chiki and Mulan continued to be very attached to them... To this day it is like that, deep down they will always remain their babies.
Para terminar quiero mencionar que esterilizamos a Chiki , Mulan y Kitty cuando esta ultima ya estaba adulta. Llegamos a la conclusión que sería lo más prudente, y sano para ellas. No voy a negar que fuera una experiencia Maravillosa pero sigo sintiendo nostalgia al recordarlos. Sé que están en buenos hogares y eso me reconforta además Kitty, Osito y Quesito siempre nos acompañan con todo su cariño y amor.
To finish I want to mention that we sterilized Chiki, Mulan and Kitty when the latter was already an adult. We came to the conclusion that it would be the most prudent and healthy for them. I will not deny that it was a wonderful experience but I still feel nostalgic when I remember them. I know they are in good homes and that comforts me, besides Kitty, Osito and Quesito always accompany us with all their affection and love.
