I want to introduce four members of my pack, the four females that make it up and how each one came to this house.
Quiero presentar a cuatro integrantes de mi manada, las cuatro hembras que la conforman y el cómo llegó cada una a esta casa.
Starting with the oldest of the pack, she is Mumu, she is 9 years old and is spayed, just like the rest. She is one of the few that was born here, she is the daughter of the first cat we had. She was born on June 5th and is a Tortoiseshell cat, easily distinguishable by her mostly black coat with orange spots and a bit of white. She is quite bitter, although she likes to sleep with me in my bed, her favorite place to be during the day is on top of the fridge.
Comenzando con la más viejita de la manada, ella es Mumu, tiene 9 años y está esterilizada, al igual que el resto. Ella es una de las pocas que nació aquí, es hija de la primera gata que tuvimos. Nació el 5 de junio y es una gata Carey, fácilmente distinguible por su pelaje mayormente negro con manchas naranjas y un poco de blanco. Es bastante amargada, aunque le gusta dormir conmigo en mi cama, su lugar favorito para estar durante el día, es arriba de la nevera.
This is Maria Antonia, although we call her Turi. She is a rescue, my mom found her near a dumpster and couldn't help but bring her with her. The first picture is from the day she arrived and the second one is two years later. She is also spayed and is quite flirtatious, as many people who see her for the first time fall in love easily, although she is quite skittish and when there are a lot of people in the house, she usually hides.
Esta es María Antonia, aunque le decimos Turi. Ella es rescatada, mi mamá la encontró cerca de un basurero y no pudo evitar traerla consigo. La primera foto es del día que llegó y la segunda es dos años después. Ella también está esterilizada y es bastante coqueta, pues mucha gente que la ve por primera vez se enamora fácilmente, aunque es bastante asustadiza y cuando hay mucha gente en la casa, suele esconderse.
Now it is Lucy's turn. She is a little more special case, since she was abandoned with her son in the house next to mine, both were perched every day on the sidewalk waiting for their owners, but they did not arrive. So between my mom, my sister and I, we started giving them food and water, until little by little they came closer to the house and had the confidence to come in.
The reason why she is a more special case is that she is blind, although that was only an impediment at first, because it was a space she did not know, but she managed to adapt quickly and now she moves around the house as if she had lived here all her life. I must also say that she came to this house pregnant and after giving birth, she was sterilized.
La razón por la cual ella es un caso más especial, es que es ciega, aunque eso solo fue un impedimento al principio, pues era un espacio que no conocía, pero logró adaptarse rápidamente y ahora se mueve por la casa como si hubiera vivido aquí toda su vida. También debo decir, que ella llegó a esta casa embarazada y luego de parir, fue esterilizada. Al principio quisimos buscarle un hogar y unas personas estuvieron interesadas, pero nunca vinieron por ella, así que preferimos quedárnosla. Ahora ella esta feliz en esta manada y esterilizada.Ahora es el turno de Lucy. Ella es un caso un poco más especial, ya que la abandonaron junto a su hijo en la casa junto a mía, ambos se posaban todos los días en la acera esperando a sus dueños, pero estos no llegaban. Así que entre mi mamá, mi hermana y yo, empezamos a darles comida y agua, hasta que poco a poco se acercaban más a la casa y tuvieron confianza para entrar.
Now it's the turn of the smallest one, she is Hecate, although we call her Chichi and she does both names. She is also rescued. She was left in a neighbor's house to hunt mice and cockroaches, but they left her outside and she was still too small to hunt. A friend of my sister's brought her to us, because she saw that the dogs near that house were trying to hunt her, so she took her and brought her to us. Here we bathed her, checked her and noticed that her tail was bent to one side almost at the tip, as it was broken, although this is not a problem for her.At first we wanted to find a home for her and some people were interested, but they never came for her, so we preferred to keep her. Now she is happy in this herd and spayed.Ahora es el turno de la más pequeña, ella es Hécate, aunque le decimos Chichi y hace caso por ambos nombres. Ella también es rescatada. A ella la dejaron en una casa que tiene un vecino al cuido, para que cazara los ratones y cucarachas, pero la dejaron afuera y aun era muy pequeña para cazar. Una amiga de mi hermana la trajo con nosotras, pues vio que los perros cercanos a esa casa intentaban cazarla, así que la tomó y la trajo. Aquí la bañamos, la revisamos y nos dimos cuenta que su cola se doblaba hacia un lado casi en la punta, pues estaba rota, aunque esto no le supone ningún problema.
