Siempre he sentido curiosidad por saber cuál es la fascinación de los gatos por las cajas (estén vacías o no), pues parecen niños pequeños que en muchos casos las prefieren en lugar del juguete que había dentro!
Mi gatita Aramis no es la excepción. Cada vez que llega una caja nueva a la casa (sea con las compras, alguna encomienda, o simplemente para organizar cosas dentro del closet) ella no solo muestra interés por la caja, sino también se nota su ansiedad para que la desocupe rápidamente y poder usarla como un juguete o un escondite, aunque todos la podemos ver dentro de ella.
El día de las fotos, habían entregado la caja de alimentos que proveen en la escuela de mi hijo, y luego de ubicar la mercadería en la alacena, coloqué la caja en la mesita que usa mi hijo para colocar sus cosas, para luego bajarla al lugar donde pasan los recolectores de cartón. Pero Aramis tenía otros planes, y aunque ya tenía una caja para ella, al parecer la novedad le llama más la atención y se adueñó de esta también.
Lo más gracioso es que se durmió dentro de ella, haciéndose una bola multicolor para poder entrar. Sin embargo, cuando decidí disponer de la caja anterior, se despertó y rápidamente se metió en la otra también. Estuvimos jugando con ella, haciéndola correr de una caja a otra, pues ella quería conservar las dos al parecer.
Finalmente, se quedó con la nueva, por lo menos por ese día, ya que luego no le dio mayor importancia y también pude sacarla de casa, pero me quedaron estas lindas fotos para el recuerdo de las aventuras de mi pequeña mota de pelos multicolor queriendo acaparar cajas dentro de la casa.
Y ustedes, saben cuál es la explicación lógica por esta fascinación que tienen los gatos por las cajas?

My kitty Aramis is no exception. Every time a new box arrives at the house (whether with groceries, a package, or just for organizing things in the closet), she not only shows interest in the box, but also eagerly waits for it to be emptied so she can use it as a toy or a hiding spot, even though we can all see her inside it.
On the day of the photos, the box of food provided by my son's school had been delivered, and after storing the items in the pantry, I placed the box on the little table my son uses to keep his things, intending to later take it down to where the cardboard collectors pass by. But Aramis had other plans, and even though she already had a box of her own, the new box seemed to catch her attention more, so she claimed it too.
The funniest part is that she fell asleep inside it, curling up into a multicolored ball to fit in. But when I decided to get rid of the previous box, she woke up and quickly jumped into the new one as well. We played with her, making her run from one box to the other, as she seemed to want to keep them both.
In the end, she kept the new one, at least for that day, as later she didn't pay much attention to it and I was able to take it out of the house. But I have these lovely photos as a memory of the adventures of my little multicolored furball trying to claim boxes in the house.
