Hace un tiempo les conté de mi gatita "Oreo", una gatita que adoptamos de los vecinos que son rescatistas de animales de la calle y que empezó a quedarse con nosotros en la casa, logramos domesticarla y se convirtió en nuestra compañera y mejor amiga de mi perrita "Poly".
Todo estaba bien, pero, pues, como la mayoría de los gatos, ella era un alma libre, cruzaba entre las casas y en las noches venía a dormir a mi casa y a comer, pero nunca pudimos lograr que se quedara del todo con nosotros, lo cual me generaba un poco de angustia, pero decidí confiar en sus instintos.
Sin embargo, tristemente un día, al parecer, cruzó la calle y un carro le dio un golpe y falleció, todos quedamos muy tristes con la noticia, incluyendo a Poly quien pasó por una depresión de varias semanas, al darse cuenta de que su compañera desde que tenía 3 meses de edad no volvía.
El asunto es que nosotros nunca fuimos tan allegados a los gatos, fue con ella que le tomamos cariño y a saber cómo tratarlos, pero después de su pérdida volvimos a quedar todos nuevamente con algo de miedo de que, como no son animales que podemos mantener en un mismo lugar como un perro, ya que mi casa es amplia y tiene ventanales y salidas altas por todos lados, pues, se nos iba a volver a dificultar mantener con nosotros otro gato al que le desarrolláramos afecto con el miedo de que después le pasara algo.
Some time ago I told you about my kitten "Oreo", a kitten that we adopted from neighbors who are rescuers of street animals and who started to stay with us in the house, we managed to tame her and she became our companion and best friend of my dog "Poly".
Everything was fine, but, like most cats, she was a free soul, she would cross between houses and at night she would come to sleep at my house and eat, but we could never get her to stay with us at all, which made me a bit anxious, but I decided to trust her instincts.
However, sadly one day, apparently, she crossed the street and a car hit her and she passed away, we were all very saddened by the news, including Poly who went through a depression of several weeks, realizing that his companion since he was 3 months old was not coming back.
The thing is that we were never so close to cats, it was with her that we became fond of them and knew how to treat them, but after her loss we were all again afraid that, as they are not animals that we can keep in one place like a dog, since my house is spacious and has large windows and high exits everywhere, well, it would be difficult to keep another cat with us to develop affection with the fear that later something would happen to her.
Mientras fue pasando el tiempo empezó a acercarse a nuestra casa una nueva gatita que era amiga de "Oreo", pero era más pequeña que ella, para el momento en que estaba viva, esta gatita es completamente diferente a Oreo, tiene muchas rallas, la decidí llamar "Lucy" hace un par de meses.
Mis papas no han querido adoptar del todo a Lucy, pero ella pasa gran parte del día cerca de la entrada de la casa y dentro también, no sabíamos que Lucy no estaba esterilizada, ya que la vecina que los rescata los llevaba a esterilizar, pero aparentemente ella llegó muy pequeña y estaba pendiente de pasar por ese proceso, pero un día nos dimos cuenta de que estaba embarazada, hace un mes y algo más de tiempo.
Y fue así como llegaron ahora a nuestras vidas dos gatitos minimizados muy cómicos que ahora corren por toda la casa y juegan entre sí, es demasiado lindo haberlos visto desde que nacieron, jamás habíamos vivido el proceso de ver crecer un gatito desde tan pequeño, fue muy bonito ver como su mamá encontró un lugar acorde para tenerlos, que fuera muy calentito y suave y como estuvo encerrada con ellos, casi 1 mes entero, hasta que pudieron empezar a caminar y defenderse por sí solos.
Ahora mismo tienen casi 1 mes de nacidos, y hasta juegan con nuestra perrita Poly, aunque a veces les ladra cuando sienten que están invadiendo demasiado su área personal (que es toda la casa, porque "toda", según ella, es de ella y nada más) sin embargo, es lindo ver la interacción de los gatitos entre sí y a veces verlos interactuar con Poly, son muy tiernos, aun no les ponemos nombres.
As time went by a new kitten began to approach our house, she was a friend of "Oreo", but she was smaller than her, by the time she was alive, this kitten is completely different from Oreo, she has many stripes, I decided to call her "Lucy" a couple of months ago.
My parents have not wanted to adopt Lucy at all, but she spends most of the day near the entrance of the house and inside too, we did not know that Lucy was not sterilized, since the neighbor who rescues them took them to sterilize, but apparently she arrived very small and was pending to go through that process, but one day we realized that she was pregnant, a month and some time ago.
And that's how two very funny minimized kittens that now run around the house and play with each other came into our lives, it is too cute to have seen them since they were born, we had never lived the process of seeing a kitten grow from so small, it was very nice to see how their mom found a suitable place to have them, that was very warm and soft and how she was locked up with them, almost 1 whole month, until they could start walking and defend themselves on their own.
Right now they are almost 1 month old, and they even play with our dog Poly, although sometimes she barks at them when she feels they are invading too much her personal area (which is the whole house, because "everything", according to her, is hers and nothing else) however, it is nice to see the interaction of the kittens with each other and sometimes see them interacting with Poly, they are very cute, we still don't give them names.
Ahora mismo estamos es preocupados porque "Lucy" perdió mucho peso en el periodo de la cuarentena del postparto y le ponemos comida a cada rato, sin embargo ella siempre fue delgada y no creemos que aumente mucho de peso.
En estos días le comentaba a alguien por aquí, que me gustaría que los gatos de aquí fueran más peluditos para que se vieran gorditos y cuchis, pero asumo que porque vivimos en una isla, donde el clima siempre es caluroso y no tenemos estaciones (solo una con calor permanente) que los gatos mestizos son de poco pelaje para protegerse del calor, por lo que creo que esta es la razón del por qué siempre se ven delgados, aunque yo quisiera que fueran como como "Garfield" por ejemplo.
En conclusión, con este post les presento a los nuevos 2 integrantes de la familia, porque ya "Lucy" era una semi integrante, ahora ya casi está adoptada, pero igual sigue siendo un alma muy libre, incluso más libre de lo que era "Oreo", tal vez los gatitos como nacieron en mi propia casa podamos domesticarlos mejor.
Tenemos pendiente esterilizar a "Poly" y a "Lucy", porque por lo que tengo entendido los gatos si tienen celos mucho más frecuentes y, al menos, a Poly podemos controlarla y alejarla de otros perros, pero con Lucy no vamos a poder hacerle eso, así que espero que el próximo post sea contándoles sobre eso, porque necesito esterilizarlas a las 2 y quedarme tranquila con eso. Para terminar les pregunto: ¿Qué nombre les pondrían a los gatitos?

These days I was commenting to someone here, that I would like the cats here to be more furry so they look chubby and spoiled, but I assume that because we live on an island, where the weather is always hot and we have no seasons (only one with permanent heat) that the mestizo cats have little fur to protect themselves from the heat, so I think this is the reason why they always look thin, although I would like them to be like "Garfield" for example.
In conclusion, with this post I introduce you to the new 2 members of the family, because "Lucy" was already a semi member, now she is almost adopted, but she is still a very free soul, even more free than "Oreo" was, maybe the kittens as they were born in my own house we can tame them better.
We have to sterilize "Poly" and "Lucy", because from what I understand cats do have more frequent jealousy and, at least, we can control Poly and keep her away from other dogs, but with Lucy we won't be able to do that, so I hope the next post will be telling you about that, because I need to sterilize both of them and be calm about it.
