Tofi's point of view: Morning in the life of a cat

Oh, it's morning! The light outside begins to peek through the door. With one eye barely open, I awaken from my slumber, stretching my paws and flicking my tail. My day starts with an important routine: waiting for my Meowmy to return home. Like the usual, she went out last night, I suppose she's out to hunt for some delicious treats. I am not sure what she meant when she said she's going to the office to work. I wonder what an office looks like? Is she hanging out with other cats out there?

The anticipation is thrilling; I know that she will come any time soon. It's time to stand guard behind the door!

After just a few minutes of waiting, my meowmy walked through the door, I greeted her with my most charming purrs and rubbed my whole body on her legs. I'm marking my territory. This hooman is only mine.

And now, the sound I’ve been longing for – the sweet clink of the can opening. Oh, that smell! My bowl is filled with the glorious wet food I love so much. I prance around her legs, purring loudly, as she places it down. While my meowmy settles down in her comfy bed, I take a moment to enjoy my feast in peace, knowing she’ll soon need a little rest after her long night.

Savoring my meal

After my meal, I watch her as she begins preparing some strange objects, and I can tell it’s time for my morning bath. Ah, the bath. Not my favorite thing! But meowmy said it is a must so I will always look handsome. I hid myself under the bed, pretending not to notice the water and tools. Crossing my fingers that it is actually not what I was thinking.

Before I know it, I’m in the tub, feeling the warm water and hearing the gentle splash. Meowmy is gentle, and I try to keep my composure. But I just can't! I meowed loudly asking for help, but I know meowmy will not tolerate this and just go on with what she's doing.

After the bath, it’s time for the dreaded nail clipping. I sit still, accepting my fate; I know this will help me keep my claws in check for my playful pouncing later on.

Enjoying the treat

Finally! I am fresh and trimmed! Meowmy gave me treats because I was a 'good boy'. Ah, sweet morsels of joy! I devour them eagerly, a perfect reward for my bravery during bath time.

But the pampering doesn’t stop there; she also cleaned my eara after giving me some treats, It was tickling which made me jump put of her lap. But she's faster than me, she grabbed me before I could even hide somewhere!

Finally, our morning routine has ended. With a full belly, freshly groomed fur, and a slight buzz from the treats, I curl up in my favorite spot in the house and I drifted off to sleep, dreaming of endless adventures and the next morning’s routine. Life is good for a cat like me.
