So this is my son "Barfy" and I posted about him a while back, telling how my girlfriend and I came to decide to adopt him over 10 months ago.
To this day, he's been taken care of amazingly & we actually shower him with love everyday 💘😅🥰
Barfy was happy and so playful until about a week ago when he started acting pretty weird...
He was awfully quite, stopped eating anything (even water) for like six hours, and didn't let neither of us cuddle him. We got extremely worried and it was almost 5AM in the morning so we had very little help around, fortunately, we finally came to find a 24h vet. Not so close to us, but we picked Barfy up and we were there in less than an hour.
Long story short, he's now fine and better than ever! Thanks to his Doctor, he got some medicine & antibiotics for 3 nights, and he got back to normal. Funny, playful & adorable Barfy! ❤🐰
So here's the tip guys:
If you've got a cat or a dog, it's okay for them not to eat for several hours or in some cases, even up to days, but if your pet is a RABBIT 🐇 you MUST watch it closely and notice any small changes in their behaviour. It is important to know that digestive system of rabbits is very sensitive and the period of not eating, should not go more than five or six hours and DEFINITELY NOT MORE THAN 12 HOURS.
Please take this seriously so that your pet can get well soon like our Barfy did. Take them to his/her vet by any small changes you notice; and of course, for their routine check up.
