En odontopediatría es muy común las caries dental, siendo la principal enfermedad común que afecta a nuestros niños, ya que cabe destacar que al ser una enfermedad dinámica dependerá de diversos factores, entre uno de estos se encuentran los malos hábitos de higiene bucal, por lo que no se refuerza la tecnica de cepillado, algunos niños omiten el cepillado cental o simplemente no lo hacen de una manera adecuada, es por ello que se debe reducir la carga bacteriana en boca de las caries dental, esto lo hacemos con el saneamiento básico donde buscaremos cerrar esas cavidades que se encuentren muy extensas con caries con un material provisional.
