Pets and Situations of Coronavirus

I am sure you remember the Corona virus that got us all locked in our homes for a while. No one could go out or run their physical businesses; people had no other option than to result in online businesses and shopping full time, including those who never saw it as an option.

Gladly, we were able to overcome that phase, and now people can move around, although I heard the virus is still an issue in other countries. However, we are no longer hearing about cases of coronavirus over here.
Severe acute respiratory syndrome Corona virus 2, often known briefly as SARS-COV-2 , is the virus causing COVID-19. The case of SARS-COV-2 has been detected in animals in the United States since the year 2020.

While the disease can spread amongst humans, it can also spread between people and animals. Corona virus belongs to a large family of viruses, and COVID-19 is caused by a particular type of Corona virus. Some types of coronavirus make humans sick, others make animals sick, and there are some that infect just animals.
Pets like dogs and cats have been found to have the COVID-19 infection, and most times they get infected after close contact with humans who had the virus. The first discovered coronavirus is the infectious bronchitis virus, which up till date is the most important gammacoronavirus; this makes it the genus prototype.

The virus economically affects the poultry industry all around the globe; the performance of meat-type and farm egg laying birds is also affected in this case. IBV is one highly contagious disease that affects the renal, reproductive, and respiratory systems of animals; how severe it gets differs based on the viral strain involved.
For dogs, two alpha coronaviruses are known, the CCoV-I and CCoV-II, we also have the beta coronavirus CRCoV. The CCoV's are gastrointestinal viruses that are transmitted from feces to the mouth.
Some animals with SARS CoV-2 may either show clinical signs, while others may not. Animals that show signs have cough, fever, breathing difficulty, sneezing, lethargy, diarrhea, vomiting, and discharge from the eyes or nose.

Even if the outbreak is over now and the disease is now endemic in people, this means the risk still remains that animals can be exposed to the virus. The manner in which SARS CoV-2 affects different species of animals and the spread is still being studied.
There are other non-domestic species of animals that have also been infected with SARS CoV-2 infection; some of those include;* Animals in the zoos* Wild ehite-tsiled deer and mule deer * Mink on mink farms.

But even with the fear of the virus being a zoonotic one, the chances of humans getting the virus from an animal are by far lower than the chances of humans getting it from each other.
The best way to protect animals against SARS-COV-2 is by reducing the risk of exposure to the virus through infected humans . If anyone in the house has Covid-19, contact should be restricted with pets just as it is being limited with other non infected humans.
