It's the weekend, right? Not anymore for me. The weekend no longer feels like one because of the magnitude of work sitting on my desk (if there's a desk...lol) every weekend. Pause, before I forget why I had decided to do this writing.
It's Friday. I know how much I missed doing #Marketfriday on Fridays because dreemport had different collaborations. And I didn't think it best to have two posts on Fridays seeing that I only have to put one in there.
Well, this month our #marketfriday collaboration is over, and although I haven't been able to put in an entry in the last few weeks. I am glad a new account will help me stay on track with all of my friends and my favorite communities of course.
As I speak, I have no idea what the rules are, I am just going to share photos that are long overdue to be shared and I hope you have fun scrolling through.
But I have to tell you the truth, these shots were taken on a Saturday. A Saturday that was meant to be a resting day for me. How I ended up in the market still feels weird to me. Anyways, Fridays are for #marketfriday, and @dswigle has a good hold on me.
Disclaimer, I don't eat soup... Not much... So, every shot had been my lazy self accompanying a friend to the market while I watch him go through the process of preparing this delicious Egusi soup.

Wait a minute....I think I recall what the rule for this week was....well, do you think Egusi Soup is a bad idea for a party? 🤣🤣🤣
He purchased the seeds and had it blend.
And we ended up with this texture
We bought onions and fresh pepper.
We purchased a bunch of greens. It was the first time for me. I wondered if the particular green he bought will leave an aftertaste in the food. Well it didn't.
We went over to another stall and bought fish, meat, Ekporo, oil, and perewinkle
We decided to buy Garri, and finally crayfish.
Once we got home, he began the preparation.
At point,he added water to the ground melon before adding it to the broth.
Added the greens and finally the oil.
See that spoon reaching out? That was him spooning off a portion for me to taste.... hehehehe.
And that was it....this food wasn't served because he had to prepare for church and I am no fan of Soup.
But for dreemport party today.....the dish will served in the spirit 😂😂
