When Workplace Dynamics and Politics are hurting workers

Every workplace has its own dynamics. There's no workplace that is apparently alike to each other. In a university, a workplace is led by the President or School Head. The President has VPs and other Directors, unit head to carry out the vision and mission of the university.

In times of crisis, people should work hand in hand to find solutions for a particular problem. The system becomes chaotic when people find injustices, people feel that their work is less appreciated, workers feel that one is favored over the other, and due process is not followed at all. A colleague once said, "He respected the wisdom but it is hurting the people".

But, who is brave enough to question the system? Only a few. Because of fear, workers chose to be silent. Or because workers feel that even if they will voice out, their voices will not be heard.

Where I am now? I chose the latter, I chose to be silent and continue the job that I am called for. Our unit may be criticized by some, who underestimate our capacities despite our successes. I continue to work on and on and prove to them that we have contributed something to the institution.

If you were in my shoes? What will be your stand?
