Durban Violette blooms + Pink Kush, Orange Apricot, and Apricot Kush seedlings

The Durban Violette has been growing some impressive buds, and is a couple weeks away from harvest. Three new cannabis seedlings on the grow - a Pink Kush, an Orange Apricot, and an Apricot Kush.

Durban Violette blooms

This Durban Violette cannabis plant has had eight weeks of bloom time, it's looking like one or two more weeks until harvest.

This plant had a longer vegetative growth time, and even some outdoor time, this mature plant has some good sized buds.

The buds still have a dank peanut butter scent to them, and a sweet lemon scent emerges when they're bumped into. This strain's terpenes are described as having Hops, Pine, and Mint flavors, I'll have to wait until harvest to verify.

The buds have light and dark greens, some purple tones, bright orange, yellow, and white pistils, and a dusting of THC trichomes. The majority of the fan leaves have fallen, clearing the way for the bud leaves to receive more light as they finish.

Pollinated Branch

The lower left branch bud was pollinated with Apricot Kush pollen a few weeks ago, many cross strain seeds have grown.

The pistils started to turn bright orange within days of pollinating. The pistil pair pods started to swell with seeds, some have split open to reveal the Durban Violette x Apricot Kush cross pollinated seeds.

Half orange and half white pistils, this Durban Violette cannabis plant is looking like one or two weeks until harvest.

Pink Kush seedling

The Pink Kush seedling has had two weeks of growth since sprouting. The leaf growth was stalled for the first week, the plant was busy with root growth it seems.

IMG_20230712_230004_243~3.jpg Three Days

The plant took off during it's second week of growth, with the seedling adding many new sets of leaves.

Orange Apricot seedling

The Orange Apricot seeds are from the crossing of the Orange Barb and Pink Apricot strains, this seedling has had two weeks of growth.

IMG_20230710_232432_291.jpg Three Days

A little slower growth on the first week, but by the end of the second week many sets of leaves had grown. I'll have to transplant these seedlings soon, to give their roots more room to grow.

This could be a bud producing female, or a pollen producing male - if it's female then I'll smoke the buds. If it's male then I'll save the pollen to cross back into a female Orange Apricot (the next one I grow), to start to stabilize the crossed strain seed. I will clone this plant before putting it into bloom mode, just incase it is a bud producing female, then I could get a second bud harvest.

Apricot Kush seedling

Almost the first week of growth for this newly sprouted Apricot Kush seedling. After a few days of soaking in water, the seed popped open. After a few days in a damp paper towel in a plastic bag the seed had a good size tap root tail, it was ready for planting.

A couple days later the seedling started to rise above the soil, a couple days later I had to raise it closer to the light so it wouldn't start to stretch up too much.

This Apricot Kush seedling started growing it's second set of leaves by the end of week one. It's off to a good start, fingers crossed this one's a female cannabis plant.
