Are Australian Windmills powered by Coal?

I once met a man who worked in the Wind Farm industy.

And I, with very little verbal filter, asked if they really did kill birds and bats.

He wasn't very happy with me.
He mumbled something about the claim being, "inaccurate", and never spoke to me again.

Michael's interview here brought back that awkward memory.

If, what is being said in the interview is accurate, then we really should be putting more brain matter into solutions than the political gesturing.

The topic of windfarms crossed my mind many years ago.
I was travelling for my very first visit to Taiwan.
They had Wind Farms way, way out into the ocean.
Several, were not working, had blades ruined and hanging like a hang nail.
My thought at the time was, "Wow, imagine the maintenance costs to fix that thing?"

I like renewable energies. I like all energies that can run efficiently and as cleanly as possible.
We continually create amazing technologies that change our existence.
However, it seems that Humanity's maturity is always catching up.

On the topic of, Global Population Reduction, I read this report about 4 years ago.
It is called THE KISSINGER REPORT done in 1974.

report National Security Study Memorandum (NSSM200)

In the report, they talk about initives to encourage a reduction in population growth.

One item, that raised my eyebrows, was regarding Mexico;

The great momentum of population growth can be seen even more clearly in the case of a single country -- for example, Mexico. Its 1970 population was 50 million. If its 1965-1970 fertility were to continue, Mexico's population in 2070 would theoretically number 2.2 billion. If its present average of 6.1 children per family could be reduced to an average of about 2 (replacement level fertility) by 1980-85, its population would continue to grow for about sixty years to 110 million. If the two-child average could be reached by 1990-95, the population would stabilize in sixty more years at about 22 percent higher -- 134 million. If the two-child average cannot be reached for 30 years (by 2000-05), the population at stabilization would grow by an additional 24 percent to 167 million.

My eyebrows rose, due to the target population growth, to be reduced from 6.1 children per family, down to 2.

Looking at current rates that projection appears to have been met.source

There is much talk about the methods of reducing population.
One profound statement being

"No country has reduced its population growth without resorting to abortion"

Anyway, humanity with find solutions to their problems, from sane to insane.
Let us hope that the push for more, and more, censorship, is unsuccessful.
Although, historically, every tyrant-class aims to suppress, propagandise, and subdue its population.

Another, thought provoking interview from a lady who worked for government, was involved in poor policy, and adds a healthy dose of skepticism to the actions being undertaken.

Remember to breathe. Work on you. Improve the World around you.
