Changes to Raves to make them less predictable

Raves has been live for some time now and we always like to make changes if we receive any negative feedback or realise things could be better.

The Problem

The main issue we did not foresee was that individuals could buy a huge number of RV cards and easily cause their chosen rave colour to win.
Our initial hope was that many teams would form and they would be able to counter this by "clubbing together" all their RV cards but it hasn't really worked out that way.

Because it is so easy to see how many cards any player owns on chain it makes everything a bit too predictable.

The Solution - Holidays and Sickness!!

As Rising Star is a real life simulator we wanted to introduce something that would be as realistic as possible and after many ideas and conversations with the community we decided that the police and the hoax callers sometimes need a little holiday or may get sick.

So now when you send RV cards in to a rave their is a random chance that they will go on holiday after the current rave or become sick.

The Details

  • The first RV card you send is immune from the above.
  • The second card has a 1% chance of going on holiday / becoming sick
  • The third a 2% chance right up to the fiftieth having a 50% chance
  • The 51st onwards all have a 50% chance
  • Each card that qualifies will either be unavailable for 1, 2 or 3 rave events (by equal random chance).

Let's see how this goes for the next few weeks and if we need to make any adjustments to the details above we will do so.
