Hola comunidad de Hive, me alegra poder estar de nuevo por acá después de un tiempo de trabajo y proyectos personales en la fotografía y el video. Pero con respecto a esto estaba ansioso por traerles parte de lo que he estado haciendo con el Ballet Nacional de Cuba. Y se trata de esta pequeña sesión durante sus ensayos para la obra El Quijote, adaptación de este gran clásico, que se presentó este verano en el Teatro Nacional y que les recomiendo bastante que vean.
En esta ocasión fue bajo la actuación de la primera solista mexicana Valeria Mariaud junto a nuestro primer bailarín Dani Hernández.
Hello Hive community, I'm glad to be here again after a time of work and personal projects in photography and video. But in this regard, I was eager to bring you part of what I was doing with the National Ballet of Cuba. And it is about this short session during his rehearsals for the play Don Quixote, an adaptation of this great classic, which was presented this summer at the National Theater and which I highly recommend you see.
On this occasion it was under the performance of the first Mexican soloist Valeria Mariaud together with our first dancer Dani Hernández.

Como irán viendo más adelante en otros post, además del retrato, la danza es otro nicho donde estoy especializándome, y junto a la historia y el dinamismo que hay detrás de cada captura de ballet, la sutileza del gesto, el cuerpo expresándose, siempre trato de enfocarme en retrato de ese ser humano más allá de su oficio.
Por eso disfruto y me interesan los procesos, los ensayos, porque se revela más ese lado humano, natural, la persona real detrás del personaje, la que ríe, tropieza, suda, se vuelve a levantar y crece.
As you will see later in other posts, in addition to portraiture, dance is another niche where I am specializing, and together with the history and the dynamism behind each ballet capture, the subtlety of the gesture, the body expressing itself, I always try to focus on the portrait of that human being beyond his job.
That is why I enjoy and am interested in the processes, the rehearsals, because that human, natural side is revealed more, the real person behind the character, the one who laughs, stumbles, sweats, gets up again and grows.

Entrando en la fotografía de ballet, hay que tener mucho cuidado con el respeto a los movimientos, es muy delicado, te puede quedar bien la foto pero no con el gesto adecuado, y hay que saber equilibrar eso, hay que estudiarlo o asesorarse al respecto, como fue mi caso.
Este es un sector que amo mucho y pronto les estaré compartiendo materiales al respecto, incluso sobre otro tipo de baile muy intenso que espero que les guste. Por el momento es todo y agradezco que HIVE nos permita compartir y conocernos.
Entering ballet photography, you have to be very careful with respect to the movements, it is very delicate, the photo can look good but not with the right gesture, and you have to know how to balance that, you have to study it or get advice on it , as was my case.
