One of the most famous and entertaining attractions of Pike Place Market in Seattle is the fish throw. This is a traditional practice in which the fish market staff artfully toss fresh seafood, especially salmon, through the air to present to the customer and eventually wrap it. The fish toss embodies the playful and hospitable character of the market and adds a fun touch to shopping for fresh fish and other seafood. Even during the day, there is little light available here, which makes it difficult to capture the fish throw photographically. I used my 85mm lens with an aperture of F1.8 and set the exposure time to 1/4000 of a second. Of course, this meant I could only take photos with a high ISO value of 4000, but I managed to capture the flying fish in the air reasonably sharply.
Eine der bekanntesten und unterhaltsamsten Attraktionen des Pike Place Markte in Seattle ist der Fischwurf. Hierbei handelt es sich um eine traditionelle Praxis, bei der die Mitarbeiter des Fischmarkts frische Fische, insbesondere Lachs, kunstvoll durch die Luft werfen, um sie dem Kunden zu präsentieren und letztendlich zu verpacken. Der Fischwurf verkörpert den spielerischen und gastfreundlichen Charakter des Marktes und verleiht dem Einkaufen von frischem Fisch und anderen Meeresfrüchten eine unterhaltsame Note. Selbst tagsüber hat man hier nur wenig Licht zur Verfügung, was es schwierig macht den Fischwurf fotografisch einzufangen. Ich verwendete mein 85mm Objektiv mit einer Offenblende von F1.8 und stellte die Belichtungszeit auf 1/4000 Sekunde. Natürlich konnte ich deshalb nur mit einem hohen ISO-Wert von 4000 fotografieren, doch so gelang es mir, den fliegenden Fisch in der Luft einigermaßen scharf abzulichten.
