Hindu Wedding

Back in time Hindu weddings were celebrated a whole month. As we know Hindu weddings have a lot of activities and rituals that need to be done. A Hindu wedding is divided in 4 parts:

1. Knowing each other: families come together to get to know each other and so the couple. This meeting is done first at the home of the girl and there they plan to meet at the boy house.
2. Engagement: the engagement is something that Hindu's were doing since they exist. It only has another form than western. An engagement of a Hinduis done by the father of the girl, who goes to the boy's house and there he exchanges the ring. The girl doesn't go to this ritual.
3. The wedding: this part takes about 3 days. Nowdays some families try to do it in one or two days, but it's to exhausting!
4. The last part of the wedding: where all the Puja rituals are ended with a prayer and closed by taking all the flowers etc to the river.

These parts were celebrated a month, but nowdays we do it in 3 days. These 3 days are not easy but it's the most happy time. It goes so fast that you'll think you've had a dream.
