Chinese Burr - The wild beauty farming weed.

As I was taking a stroll in my farming field,I was attracted by a thin array of yellow flowers. They were small in size yet attractive. These was adding a touch elegance to my crops fields. Actually, the presence natural yellow colour of the flower and green scenic beautiful farming fields in the background is what makes the sight capitivating.

These are known as Chinese burr (Triumfetta rhomboidea) which is a shrub that is considered an environmental weed in Australia. Finding thm on my field is bit surprising. The plant is an erect shrub with hairy stems, rhomboid ovate leaves, and yellow flowers.

Being belonging to a weed family, it is no way good for the crops. The Chinese burr is considered an invasive plant that can spread easily and cause negative impacts. It can compete with crops for moisture and nutrition. However the good news was that, it was not densely grown. There were only few that comes up in the field. Butbthe appearance of the plant does makes me to take a closer look. I immediately capture few shots and here are they.

Presence of weeds are not good for crops. Weeds can cause crop yields to drop. Weeds can harbor insects and crop diseases that can attack crop plants. Finding these Chinese burr surely going to damage my crop. And the best way is to get rid of them I make sure to remove them before going back home. It is pretty odd to see what adds beauty to the nature is also causing their growth.

Peace !!
