Ten Random Photos From the Archive

I discovered an archive of photos off my old phone and decided to pick ten random photos from the folder.

This first image is from an all-night classical Indian concert in the Chicago Cultural Center. Various bands would play and the music would change through the night with different ragas to fit the mood. I liked the drums and sitar bands.

Here's a morning shot of the city near the Chicago river. Somehow the sun made it through a few office windows to shine through the building.

In contrast here's a night shot of the Merchandise Mart one of the largest buildings in the world by square feet. Some giant projectors were setup to display images on the side of the building. Sadly the projected images weren't too impressive but the idea was interesting.

Now for a random photo of my pet vinegaroon Carl. Here he is waiting for me to drop a cricket in his cage. He may look dangerous but he is really shy and they cause no harm to humans.

This is a panorama of the inside of the Museum of Art in Milwaukee. The place seems like some kind of giant sea shell inside and it overlooks lake Michigan. They went all out on the design of the lobby atrium for this building. The rest of the building isn't quite as elaborate as this.

Every now and then the planters in downtown Chicago have milkweed flowers in them and Monarch butterfly larvae hatch out of them. This is one of the cocoons about to hatch. You can start to see the monarch butterfly wing color through the thin shell of the pupa.

Now for a nice colorful sunrise in the upper peninsula of Michigan. This was taken on Elk Lake off the edge of a campground early in the morning. It was nice and quiet and the only thing you could hear was the loons making their strange noises.

Here is a forest bathing shot later in the morning. This is a great spot to go mushroom hunting. Some fall color is starting to creep in and I was looking for chicken of the woods.

This is a sunset in Wisconsin near the driftless area of Wildcat Mountain. I forget the town's name I took this in but we were searching for a restaurant to eat at and there were nothing but seedy bars with just burgers and pizza on the menu lol.

The final random photo is the entry to the Chicago Opera House. I used to work in an office here and this was the view I had every morning for a few months.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
