The Lupine At Lake Tahoe This Morning

It was another beautiful morning at Lake Tahoe! The sunrise was not quite as good as forecasted but I can't complain at all. The lupine wildflowers in the foreground always make for great subject matter and I'm pretty happy with this shot.

Shot with a Canon 5DS R and a 24-105mm lens set at 67mm. The ISO was 50, the aperture was f/20, and the shutter speed was 8 seconds long. Two graduated neutral density filters were used on the front of the lens. Fortunately, there was no wind for this shot, a breeze picked up soon after and made longer exposures nearly impossible.

After I packed up to leave, I unpacked the gear again... These Canadian Geese were all over the place, enjoying the view and the yummy vegetation. They aren't very fearful at all, so I was able to get a bunch of photos of them. I may work on more later.

Ok, this is a long shot. But if you happen to be in Truckee, California this evening, please stop by Gallery 5830'! Truckee Thursdays is tonight, where tons of art, craft, and food booths line the street in Downtown Truckee. Bands, beer, and tons of fun. I'll be hanging out at the gallery and of course enjoying the good times too.

Have a great day out there. Cheers!
