Dance of the Dragons

Hello everyone!
It has been very hot in my area these days. Temperatures reached as high as 40 degrees Celsius, and we decided to cool down and bathe in the river.
Today we are on the Sana River.
The Sana River is a river in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It springs near the village of Donja Pecka, on the southwestern slopes of the Vitorog mountain.

The Sana River flows through several towns, including Sanski Most, Ključ and Prijedor, and flows into the Una River near Novi Grad (Bosanski Novi). Sana is known for its clean water and natural beauty. In its surroundings there are many natural springs, waterfalls and other attractive locations that attract tourists.
The river is also popular among fishermen due to the wealth of fish species.

We came to the river in the morning. There was hardly anyone and the river was at a pleasant temperature. The beach is organized and clean.

For the first few minutes we enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, and later we took a bath.

We also saw a bunch of dragonflies here. They are really beautiful 😍

Dragonflies are insects from the order Odonata, known for their long bodies, large eyes, and two pairs of transparent wings. They are very agile flyers and can often be seen hovering over water or plants.

A small dog approached us here. We didn't know whose it was but it was very cute.

Dragonflies usually live near bodies of water such as lakes, rivers, ponds and swamps, as their larvae (nymphs) live in water. The life cycle of dragonflies includes three stages: egg, larva (nymph) and adult. Larvae live in water and can spend several years in that stage before transforming into adults. Adult dragonflies are predators that feed on smaller insects such as mosquitoes, flies and butterflies. Nymphs are also predators and feed on small aquatic organisms.

Dragonflies are known for their extraordinary ability to fly. They can fly forward, backward, and even stand still. Their wings can operate independently of each other, which allows them great agility.

Just look at those seahorses. They are very happy and fly everywhere. It was beautiful to watch them and we enjoyed it. We watched a real dragon dance. 😍

Dragonflies' eyes cover most of their head and give them a wide field of vision, which is crucial for hunting prey and avoiding predators. Dragonflies are important to ecosystems because they help control populations of mosquitoes and other harmful insects. They also serve as an indicator of water purity, as their larvae are sensitive to pollution.

Another view of the coast. Here there is shade and the sun breaks through the treetops. The right place to rest and enjoy these hot days.
😊

Here we put a towel and enjoyed. We brought biscuits and snacks and spent the rest of the day enjoying this environment. 😍
