Queens of the Beach [Eng/Esp]

Going to the beach is one of the activities I do most often with my family and living on an island, with the beach so close to home and two children who think they are fish, it is impossible to be otherwise, and although I am not a fan of sand and sun I enjoy every time we go.

And one of the things I enjoy the most is to watch how the sun sneaks through the palm trees. And I am so fascinated by them that I can spend a long time looking at the sky through them. So you can imagine that I have a very good collection of photos, and today the day has come to share them with you.

The ones I show you today were taken in four different beaches; El Tirano, Puerto Abajo, Parguito and El Agua, with my Samsung Galaxy M12 cell phone and although I am not a professional it is something I enjoy enormously.

If you ask me what it is that attracts me so much to the palm trees, the truth is I can't tell you exactly what it is, but what I can tell you is that I can't resist photographing them.

Ir a la playa es una de las actividades que realizo con más frecuencia con mí familia y es que viviendo en una isla, con la playa tan cerca de casa y dos niños que se creen peces, es imposible que sea de otra manera, y aunque no soy fan de la arena y el sol disfruto mucho cada vez que vamos.

Y una de las cosas que más disfruto es mirar cómo se cuela el sol a través de las palmeras. Y es tanta la fascinación que ejercen en mí que puedo pasar largo rato mirando el cielo a través de ellas. Así que se imaginarán que tengo una muy buena colección de fotos, y hoy ha llegado el día de compartirlas con ustedes.

Las que les muestro hoy fueron tomadas en cuatro playas diferentes; El Tirano, Puerto Abajo, Parguito y El Agua, con mi celular Samsung Galaxy M12 y aunque no soy profesional es algo que disfruto enormemente.

Si me preguntan qué es lo qué me atrae tanto de las palmeras, la verdad no sabría decirles con exactitud qué es, pero lo que sí les puedo decir es que no me puedo resistir a fotografiarlas.

Tall, imposing, captivating... there is definitely no way for my eyes to stop looking at them and enjoy the interplay between them, the sky and the sun. For me they represent peace, stillness, tranquility, fullness and gratitude in one image, so while my husband and the kids enjoy the sea, I take a walk along the beach to take some pictures and add them to my collection, and although surely many prefer to photograph the sea, the palm trees get my attention.

I feel that they provide me with a great variety of shots, much more than anything else around me at that moment, because I can take a complete shot, just the palms, a solitary palm tree or many of them and although it is the same thing... a palm tree, depending on where I take the picture, will be unique and completely different from any other.

In fact, if I only took of the tops of palm trees I wouldn't have a single one the same either, as the wind, the sky, the clouds and the sun would give me a completely different shot every time, and maybe that's why I like them so much.

Altas, imponentes, cautivadoras... definitivamente no hay manera que mis ojos dejen de mirarlas y disfrutar del juego que hay entre ellas, el cielo y el sol. Para mí representan paz, quietud, sosiego, plenitud y agradecimiento en una imagen, por lo que mientras mi esposo y los niños disfrutan del mar, yo me dedico a caminar por la playa para tomar algunas fotografías y sumarlas a mi colección, y aunque seguramente muchos prefieren fotografiar el mar las palmeras se llevan mí atención.

Siento que me proporcionan una gran variedad de tomas, mucho más que cualquier otra cosa que hay a mi alrededor en ése momento, porque puedo hacer una toma completa, sólo las palmas, una palmera solitaria o muchas de ellas y aunque se trata de lo mismo... una palmera, dependiendo de donde tome la foto, será única y completamente diferente a cualquier otra.

De hecho, si sólo tomase de las copas de las palmeras tampoco tuviese una sola igual, ya que el viento, el cielo, las nubes y el sol me darían una toma completamente diferente cada vez, y quizá sea por eso que me gustan tanto.
