Greetings to all the members of this photography loving community, today I bring you a part of a photo session that I enjoyed and moved me at the same time.
Lucia is a quinceañera, and as is tradition in Cuba, she wanted to have her photo session. Her grandmother tells me that since she was a little girl she dreamed of this moment, longing to have her picture taken in classic dresses, and with different styles of clothes. So far she would be one of the many girls who usually visit the studio, but then the story of this little girl becomes a little sad and tangled.
It turns out that years ago she lost her father, victim of an illness, and years later her mother left her to emigrate to the USA, got married there and has another life, almost without taking care of Lucia. Her grandmother (her father's mother) was the one who raised her since she was a child, in a country where social care is not the best, especially when it comes to the elderly.
Lucia developed over time, a taste for music, she studies violin and singing in an important music school here in Havana. It is an expensive and difficult instrument to get (at least here in my country), and luckily, among several relatives, including an uncle who lives in Europe, helped to buy her a violin that she takes care of with suspicion and is a treasure for her.
What surprised me the most, was the joy of this girl, eager to have her pictures taken (in the end we had to adjust the payment so she could do the session), filling with her charisma and energy every image we took.
Life is full of obstacles, some stronger than others, but what defines us is how we overcome them. Happy day to all of you and I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Saludos a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad amante de la fotografía, hoy les traigo una parte de una sesión de fotos que disfrute y me conmovió a la misma vez.
Lucia es una quinceañera, y como es tradición en Cuba, queria hacerse su sesión de fotos. Su abuela me cuenta que desde pequeña soño con este momento, añorando hacerse fotos con vestidos clásicos, y con diferentes estilos de ropa. Hasta ahí sería una de las tantas muchachas que habitualmente visitan en el estudio, pero ya después la historia de esta niña, se vuelve algo triste y enredada.
Resulta que hace años perdió a su papá, víctima de una enfermedad, y años después su mamá la abandonó para emigrar a los EEUU, se casó allá y tiene otra vida, casi sin ocuparse de Lucía. La abuela ( madre del papá) fue quien la crío desde pequeña, en un país donde la atencion social no es la mejor, sobre todo cuando se trata de personas de la tercera edad.
Lucia desarrolló con el tiempo, un gusto por la música, estudia violín y canto en una importante escuela de música aquí en La Habana. Es un instrumento caro y difícil de conseguir ( al menos aquí en mi país), y que por suerte, entre varios familiares, sobre un tío que vive en Europa , ayudaron a comprarle un violín que cuida con recelo y es todo un tesoro para ella.
Lo que más me sorprendió, fue la alegría de esta muchacha, deseosa de hacerse sus fotos ( que al final tuvimos que ajustar el pago para que pudiera hacer la sesión), llenando con su carisma y energía cada imagen que tomamos.
La vida está llena de obstáculos, unos más fuertes que otros, pero lo que nos define, es como los vamos superando. Feliz día a todos y espero disfruten las fotos.
