The first photo shows the south tower of St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle. What do we see when we go up? We'll see Prague, what else.
Na první fotce je jižní věž katedrály sv. Víta na Pražském hradě. Co uvidíme, když vyjdeme nahoru? Uvidíme Prahu, co jiného.
Towards the southeast we will see the Malá Strana. The distinctive dome is the Church of St. Nicholas on Malostranské Square. The slopes of Petřín are green on the right. The lone building in the greenery is the summerhouse in the Schönborn Garden, which is part of the American Embassy.
Směrem jihovýchodním uvidíme Malou stranu. Výrazná kopule je kostel svatého Mikuláše na Malostranském náměstí. Vpravo se zelenají svahy Petřína. Osamělá stavba v zeleni je altánek v Schönbornské zahradě, která je součástí amerického velvyslanectví.
A view more to the east will show us Charles Bridge. The slender tower in front of it is the Church of St. Thomas. On the bank of the Vltava River on the far right is the National Theatre, while on the horizon on the far left is the Žižkov TV tower.
Pohled více na východ nám ukáže Karlův most. Štíhlá věž před ním je kostel svatého Tomáše. Na břehu Vltavy úplně vpravo je Národní divadlo, naopak na obzoru úplně vlevo se tyčí žižkovská televizní věž.
Pohled na západ nám ukáže zalesněné svahy Petřína a vpravo nahoře budovy Strahovského kláštera.

And finally, a look to the east. The two towers of St. George's Basilica and between them the Black Tower. On the right the Vltava River with the island of Štvanice, on the left the Letná Plain.
A nakonec pohled východním směrem. Dvě věže baziliky svatého Jiří a mezi nimi Černá věž. Vpravo Vltava s ostrovem Štvanice, vlevo Letenská pláň.
When we get tired of looking into the distance, we can look straight down at the cathedral's support system, a beautiful example of Gothic architecture. Or the third courtyard of Prague Castle with its obelisk and the Old Provost's Office.
Až nás omrzí pohledy do dálky, můžeme se podívat přímo dolů, na opěrný systém katedrály. který je krásnou ukázkou gotického stavitelství. Nebo na třetí nádvoří Pražského hradu s obeliskem a budovou Starého probošství.
How many stairs lead up to the tower? I didn't count. But you can see a lot of interesting things on the way. For example, the "engine room" of the tower clock or the bells of Josef, Václav and the biggest one, Zikmund.
Kolik vede na věž schodů? To jsem nepočítal. Ale i cestou můžete vidět ledacos zajímavého. Třeba "strojovnu" věžních hodin nebo zvony Josefa, Václava a toho největšího, Zikmunda.
