A new and very special White Karee tree.

Our little friend Troy passed away last November after 17 years of love and joy.

We regularly brought him here for a walk and he loved the place.

Troy was one of the bigger Chihuahua dogs and our love affair started when he was a rescued tiny little pup. My right shoe was his bed at night, and he fitted into my coffee mug. He would wait for me to drink the coffee and then I would leave a little bit for him to drink. I held the mug sideways and he would creep into it to get at the coffee at the bottom of the mug.
I was the leader of his pack, and he treated my loving wife as his sister.
So many memories that I can write a book about the love of a dog.

The parks board gave permission for trees to be planted at the sides of the lane where we walked with Troy, and they presented the trees to the public for adoption. So of course, we jumped at the opportunity to adopt a tree.
You can see the new trees here and Troy's tree is the second one at the left of the lane.

A face of happiness after tons of tears. She was so happy that Troy now has a memorial tree.

Not any tree, as the birds, such as the Cape BulBul and others, eat the fruits of this tree.

This is a Cape BulBul

The Swee Waxbills also love the seeds of the tree.

Butterflies such as this Painted Lady are in abundance here.

And we will visit Troy's tree every season to see how it grows into maturity.

A very peaceful place and although we both wiped a tear away, it is always good, not only for closure, but also to honor a lost love. The little guy crept deep into our hearts and it was most painful to see him die.
Pets truly make the best companions. Their love is unconditional, and they love with their entire beings. If only all humans could love like dogs do.

So, now we go to the park to take photos, walk a lot, enjoy the beauty, and to have fun watching the dogs with their owners. The dogs so love coming to this park. There is so much for them to see, to sniff, and with lots of place to run, they love playing with their other four-legged friends when they all get together to meet here. Those tails wagging, and such joy to see. Truly a memorable visit each time.

I hope you have enjoyed the photos and the story.

And That's All Friends.
