On our last walk to Waraira Repano ( El Avila Boulevard) I wore an outfit that looked like something out of a 1950's movie.
En nuestro último paseo al Waraira Repano (Bulevar el Ávila) me llevé puesto un atuendo que parecía sacado de una película de los años cincuenta.
I felt I was from that era because, at that time, crime novels were very fashionable and there were many film adaptations of them, so murders and detectives were a frequent theme.
Me sentía de aquella época porque, para aquel entonces, estaban muy de moda las novelas negras y había muchas adaptaciones de ellas al cine, por lo que los asesinatos y los detectives eran un tema recurrente.
With this in mind I decided to pose for @enderlouis' camera adopting the attitude of a sly detective. I would have loved to have had a magnifying glass with me to find clues! Maybe next time.

Con esto en mente decidí posar para la cámara de @enderlouis adoptando la actitud de una suspicaz detective. Me hubiera encantado tener una lupa conmigo para encontrar pistas! Quizás para la próxima.

The building behind me is the iconic Humboldt Hotel, located some 2155 meters above sea level, on top of a mountain.
El edificio que tengo a mis espaldas es el icónico Hotel Humboldt, ubicado a unos 2155 metros sobre el nivel del mar, sobre la cima de una montaña.
Many horror stories are told about this building. One of them is that, coincidentally, around the 1950s, an unintentional homicide occurred: the mistress of the then dictator and ruler, Marcos Pérez Jiménez, was pushed from the highest floor by his wife.
Se cuentan muchas historias de terror sobre este edificio. Una de ellas es que, casualmente alrededor de los años 50, ocurrió un homicidio involuntario: la amante de quien era en aquel entonces dictador y gobernante, Marcos Pérez Jiménez, fue empujada desde el piso más alto por la esposa del susodicho.
We were on the Avila Boulevard, an undoubtedly beautiful setting for a photo shoot, especially if your intention is to let your imagination run wild. Some time ago this route was literally called "Ávila Mágica" (Magic Avila).
Nos encontrábamos en el bulevar del Ávila, un escenario sin lugar a dudas precioso para una sesión de fotos, sobre todo si tu intención es poner a volar la imaginación. Hace algún tiempo a este recorrido se le llamaba literalmente "Ávila Mágica".
Considering all this, I didn't need much effort to imagine a character and her whole story: a homicide had occurred in that hotel, and even though an alleged culprit had already been put behind bars, the president himself contacted a young detective to continue the investigation.
Considerando todo esto, no necesité mucho esfuerzo para imaginarme un personaje y toda su historia: un homicidio había ocurrido en aquel hotel, y a pesar de que ya habían llevado tras las rejas a un supuesto culpable, el mismísimo presidente contactó a una joven detective para continuar la investigación.
The real killer was still at large, but the government wanted him to be caught without his identity being revealed. That's why this sly detective had to investigate discreetly and, above all, cautiously, because the killer would probably be trying to end her life before she could expose him.
El verdadero asesino aún andaba suelto, pero el gobierno quería que fuese atrapado sin que se diera a conocer su identidad. Por eso esta suspicaz detective debía investigar con discreción y, sobretodo, con cautela, porque probablemente el asesino estaría intentando acabar con su vida antes de que ella le lograra poner en evidencia.
The president must have had some information about the murder, or else, why didn't he want the true identity of the person responsible to be revealed? Did he have anything to do with the events?
Alguna información debía tener reservada el presidente sobre el homicidio, o sino, ¿Por qué no quería que se revelara la verdadera identidad del responsable? ¿Acaso él había tenido algo que ver en los acontecimientos?
Our detective faces many questions and few people willing to answer them, because corruption spreads its roots over everything in this country, especially over justice.
Nuestra detective se enfrenta a muchas preguntas y a pocas personas dispuestas a responderlas, porque la corrupción extiende sus raíces sobre todo en este país, especialmente sobre la justicia.
