As a photographer, I often come across places that, if I didn't photograph, would never have made an impression on me. One of these places is the abandoned railway cemetery in the capital's Poduene district.

If you follow my stories, you know that this is where I did a photo shoot with an acro ballerina. Strange right ? Perhaps you often travel by train, but have you ever thought about what happens to the tons of iron when they go out of use? Well, places like this are created. You see how nature, undisturbed by man, absorbs everything.

At one time there were many working railway plants on this site. Very close is the factory where the first Bulgarian locomotive was made. I have not photographed it because it is heavily guarded. But not because of historical facts, but because Hollywood productions use it as a film set. The state collects money. And "poor" places like this are simply abandoned like an orphan with leprosy.

A fellow reporter was reporting here years ago and saw a group of gypsies stealing from train sets.
He called the police and they told him that there was a technical team doing something on the wagons... He replied that this information was unlikely to be true, describing the thieves. Then they said they would send a patrol to check, but an hour later the police never came.

Why am I bothering you with these things?

Unfortunately, we live in a time where everything is money and information. Governments don't have time to deal with historical objects from Communism.Nothing, it's part of our history. Imagine this place would look great as a tourist attraction.

In Bulgaria. although we have long lived in modern European times there is still a problem with rail transport. Schemes are made, new locomotives are bought, and the time for transporting passengers between the two largest Bulgarian cities remains 3 hours. 140 kilometers by train are covered in 3 hours?!

From a photographic point of view, such places are a real jewel. It's just perfect for portraits here! With a little more imagination, you will come home with much different shots than the gentlemen who shoot only in the central parts of the city.

THANKS FOR SHARING THIS STORY!

I took the photos yesterday with Canon EOS RP / 24 - 160 mm lens

With basic processing in Adobe Photoshop
