Matsue castle is the most obvious and outstanding sight for visitors to our city. It was built over 360 years ago and is the only castle in Japan which is in original condition. Of course it has been repaired for damage due to age, but besides that, has not been changed.
It is one the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. Every tourist I meet is first taken to Matsue Castle. Each time, I enjoy the trip. It never gets boring for me.
Tourists have come here only to see the castle because of its' unique architecture. It used small pieces of wood in much of the construction. Even the stones are small when compared to those used in other castles. It is truly unusual. It contains many ancient artifacts from the old days and shows us the history of the area in a way that no other exhibit does.
