What A Great Night

The event was amazing, and for a fair while I was at the bar having a pint and waiting to hear back from Aimee. Then at around 5:30/ 6, I get a call from here.

She had been getting prepped and judged in the pre-show, and didn't have her phone on her. Then I get a call and it turns out that some of the crew from her salon were just behind me and a few tables up. (I had my back to them, so didn't see them, and didn't see me either.) It was great being able to hang out with everyone though, and I started mingling and got to meet a bunch of other people.

Some were civilians, most were the Peter Marks crew, and I was even rubbing shoulders with some big wigs.

There's Aimee doing her catwalk.

She was the very last person in the main event, so I was well prepared and ready by time she done her walk.

I got a few videos and pictures of the night. It was a good vibe, and everyone were really friendly. There was also a lot of drink drank.

Aimee and the team won! She won in her group.

The way it kind of worked is there were four groups of 8 in the main event, Aimee won out of her group, and those 4 winners are then decided upon for an overall winner of the whole event.

Drum roll, please...

Aimee won the entire event! She was literally called up alongside the stylists who done the hair, and they stood on the stage, got their trophy, came back to the seats and had to jump up again to go up and get another trophy.

There she is, alongside her two colleges.

We all cheered, and it was such a great achievement for them. I wasn't exactly involved in the whole thing, apart from taking the photographs of her back a few months ago which were entered into the competition to see if they'd get a placement for this year - which they did obviously.

I brought my camera, lights, and some poles for a backdrop down to their salon and done them down there. It was a bit of craic, but I couldn't share them at the time because entrants needed to be kept secret until the big reveal last night.

There they are there, just having come off stage.

They done their salon proud, and it was such a good achievement for all of them. The craic was 90 after they won, and we all ended up going to a local night club.

The plan was, if they lost, we'd all go back to a room, and if they won we'd all go to the night club.

We didn't last very long if I'm honest, but we did go for a bit. I could have stayed longer, but as soon as I got us drinks Aimee took a sip and said she didn't feel too well so we got a taxi back to the hotel.

Here are both of the trophy's and they weigh an absolute ton.

On the left is for winning her category, and on the right is for winning the main event.

They'll both be on display down in the salon for everyone to see, and it's truly a badge of honor for the entire team down there.

Here's the breakfast we got today.

Using our voucher the room cost us €11 and that included breakfast this morning - which we really needed.

We were both so hungover today, it was unbearable. We got back, order Abra Kababra, and pretty much passed out within a few minutes of finishing it.

Food was good, but I was in the horrors, but then again, so was everyone else.

Great night, great company, and an amazing win for the entire team.

I did get mugged though, which wasn't fun, be there ya go.

I went up to the bar, ordered 3 vodkas and 3 lemonades, and the barmaid said it was €51, I almost died, but it was too late to say no, and Aimee didn't even drink hers so we had to give it away.

Apart from that though, it was a great night.
