AGUIRRE, DOORS & WINDOWS

tcats.jpg

Aguirre is a small town nearby (about 5 kilometres north-east of Montalbán)... This village is part of our municipality and depends administratively on the same governmental entities. But Aguirre grew slower than Montalbán and also with much less population. Therefore it has been even more affected by the migration of its population than other larger towns in the area. This means that many of its houses are lonely and being sold. Some of the old colonial houses are still inhabited and well maintained, so there is plenty to photograph on their facades...

I was in recent days visiting Aguirre in the very early hours, but at the time I didn't like the kind of brightness in the atmosphere. It was a clear sky with strong lights generating great contrast and a lot of shadows. So that was a kind of brightness that I don't like for photographing things like windows, walls and doors... But during the afternoon today I noticed the existence of low dense cloud banks to the west of the valley, this provided an even light and very suitable for photographing these things. So I hopped on my old bike and set off towards Aguirre armed with my camera. :)

I really enjoyed taking these pictures, Aguirre is a relatively solitary place and one can take enough time to take pictures and walk around in a relaxed way. Although my physical condition is not the best (I'm 1,72 m tall and weigh more than 90 kgs, that will give you an idea of how far I am from being an athlete) the roads that link Aguirre to Montalbán have very little slope and are paved. So in less than 40 minutes I was already in the streets of this small town taking pictures.

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL INFO: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... The pictures are then exported to JPG format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.

Thank you very much for your visit and appreciation!
