I've been meaning to get the camera out to take an annual family photo this entire holiday season and we finally did it January 1st. At least it wasn't too late - I just wanted to make sure we captured one with our newborn River Jade!
We make travel videos (as well as film weddings and real estate videos) so we have a couple Sony a7iii cameras. I feel pretty confident with a tripod and the timer so no need to hire anyone haha
We did the same with our maternity family photos only a week before River was born - we lucked out that we actually got around to taking some while my wife was pregnant!
There's a nearby park that we love to stroll through and the lighting is amazing around 4 or 5 pm as the sun hits those cypress trees. It's called Cypress Bend Park in New Braunfels, Texas.
