Simple Life On Photos

A few days ago I showed you some photos from the photo exhibition I visited on Monday I think. You can check them out here if you missed my post. There were so many good photos that it took me a lot of time to wrap up my visit. Even though I always take photos and document everything, I still like to look at the photos or artworks at the scene as that's the original.

Our Little Village

Each photo has its own story and can tell you quite a lot if you can see the meaning, but when you see photos like the one above ... I don't know about you but it left me speechless. What do you say about a photo like this and why? In my opinion the composition is amazing. (I have to note I'm sorry the man has lost his leg as that must be said.) Whoever came up with the idea is a smart one. One thing I noticed is lack of symmetry in framing things. The man is not sitting in the middle, between the two windows and that most likely was intentional. The space left at the sides is not symmetrical either, maybe this makes it special. Maybe this is the beauty of it.

About the title, there's a parody aired by one of the Hungarian broadcasters with the exact same title. I don't know if the title has anything to do with the series, or just want to say that village life is like this, everyone knows everything and there are eyes everywhere.

Feng Shui

This photo made me smile. If you don't realize what you're looking at, this is the village version of a mancave, so to speak. It's shed made of wood and the walls are covered with magazine covers. On the right there are some naked and half naked ladies. It's a joke really as the difference between the two categories on social level is huge, but it's a good joke. On the other hand, nothing is unreachable when you're dreaming, right?

Another wonderful portrait (please disregard the reflections, there was no way of avoiding them, unfortunately), the kind that speaks without words.

My Guest Is Infinity

This photo also has a lot to say. You can see similar scenes if you go to villages far from big cities, where time has stopped a long time ago. Younger generations usually leave these villages in pursuit of a better life, securing a better education to their kids, while the elders remain. You don't move them from there at their age. They have lived a simple life and worked hard to provide for their families. What you see on the photo is an adobe house, a very old one that needs renovation, but no one is going to do the work. An old widow is resting in front of the house, after a day of work. It's heartbreaking to see the loneliness, but this is life.

In The Mist Of Remembrance

This was another wonderful photo with a deep meaning and even though it was hard to take a half decent shot, I'd like to post it. These scenes are also not rare. When you have lived there all your life, imagine the feeling when walking past those crumbling houses, remembering those times when your relatives lived there. It's hard when most of the people you once knew left and you're left behind. That chapter is closed and will never be reopened.

A couple of months ago I visited a village like that and it's really to digest the poverty and the decadence that is visible to everyone. This is how entire villages disappear. It's heartbreaking.

Waiting For The Shower

This is also a scene from the past. Hay gathering this way belongs to the past. Nowadays one man can do it in no time, with the help of modern era equipment, no need for the whole family to spend their day working.

Waited For, Not Escorted

The truth is, we see similar scenes around us every day, but I don't know if we can recognize the good opportunity. I hope one day I'm going to be this good, but who knows. I'm not dreaming of getting my photos exhibited, but I'd like to be as good as the photographers I see at the exhibitions.

@dimascastillo90 I hope you like these photos :)

Next time I'm going to show you more amazing photos, from another exhibition, among which those who won the competition.
