Mølen rocks

perhaps the most amazing local place to visit is Mølen. it has a fascinating history, is one of the best places in Norway to observe birds and wildflowers but is most noted for the unique variety of countless rocks left on the shore by the glacier from the last ice age.

the rock mound graves on the moraine up to 7 meters high date from the bronze age and early iron age but i am more interested in taking a closer look at individual stones.

various lichens grow on some of the rocks less exposed to the seawater

while algae grow on some of them in the tidal zone

i took all these photos a few days ago with my samsung S22 except the last two which i took a few years ago with my Lumix FZ300
